Kitchen Project Manager in Vancouver, BC

Great product in hand but misleading strategies
Such a great product and food safety procedures, followed by high management leading by fear turning down the environment. Salary base under the market becoming the main priority save money invest as less possible in training or staffs satisfaction.

Poor workplace environment and managing
They overwork the kitchen staff, take advantage of teenagers who just want to please by giving them 2 hour shifts. Kitchen is so understaffed and yelled at by new management. The new management has told servers that they aren’t right for the job after improper training. Has servers there for 7-8 hours only working and clocked in for 3-4 at most. They even brought in a new manager from a separate location to try to fix the mess yet proceeded to make it worse by treating staff unfairly. They try to cover their management mistakes by firing workers innocently with no notice to fix their over hiring. The newer manager yells quite a lot in the kitchen and barks orders at what seems like newer staff. All information gathered from previous staff members unhappy with the treatment. Poor servers and kitchen try their best with what they are given though.

Great place to work!
Fun and casual place to work. Tips are great because I guess it's one of their busiest restaurants! Great food and lots of families and groups which means large bills and lots of tips.

Nice people but no help from management to succeed or do better.
Manager just gets rid of you; doesn't help point out what you need to work on. Very unfair. They totally play on favouritism and if you're not a favourite forget it.

Loved my first year, but gradually started to dread coming in.
Good job if you're attending school and want short hours, easy bit of cash. As long as you don't involve too much of yourself, time or energy its enjoyable. Other team members are often friendly, but not over the top. Management is way too corporate focused, will definitely have the companys back over your own. Often had to explain the same thing several times to different members of management team due to lack of communication.
