My experience at Real Fruit was somewhat stressful. The hardest part of the job is at the beginning while one tries to memorize all of the recipes to all of the drinks. The most enjoyable part of the job was the perk of free drinks as well as the welcoming environment. The workplace culture is diverse depending on the location one works at.
Pros
Free drinks
Cons
Lots of preparation

I was not trained to make over half of the drinks on the menu until I decided to leave my job two months after starting. The co-workers and managers were very exclusive and I did not feel wanted or included at work. It made communication extremely hard among different co-workers which was an obstacle in making the workplace safe and friendly and running smoothly altogether.

For the first month was working 4-5 times a week then for the next two months was maybe put on a shift once every two weeks..... had rude employees and was NOT PROPERLY TRAINED. Manager doesn’t care about his employees and they only Hire till almost the end of your 3 month probation period then they fire you with no explanation at all. DONT WORK HERE!

A typical day at work at Real Fruit would be coming and clocking in, washing your hands and ensuring you are dressed appropriately with an apron and a hat. I would begin taking customers orders and placing the order in the appropriate area for either a tea or smoothies. I learned how to work in a fast-paced environment with other coworkers to get the drink prepared as efficiently as possible with high quality and excellent customer service. The workplace culture is very collaborative and if anyone wanted to switch areas from taking orders, to cutting fruit, to blending, the coworkers were very open and willing. The hardest part of the job would be blending when a lot of orders are present and with high variations in each drink, taking more care and time to prepare. The most enjoyable part of the job was learning new things and having good coworkers to teach and show you new skills.

Do not work here if you are searching for a long-term stable position! I only recommend this job to students looking for a part-time job.

Poor management! They have a really asian style/Chinese working culture. They use WeChat as a main app to communicate.

Some managers yell at staffs for minor mistakes in front of customers. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. It is true that the owner favours certain people. The owner is mean and yells at others a lot. It is really unpleasant working there. If you work outside of the city, the owner barely visits.

If you have a car and you drive, they make you work at different locations, and does not cover you for gas.

They do not have any benefits besides free drinks.

Management use bad words on you when you had emergency and cannot make it to work. Stop giving schedule if you ask too many questions and upset them. Worked 5days and only got below 30hours excluding breaks. Shows how much you actually make in this job. If you are not ready to go other stores when they require you to, you are automatically put into low priority when it comes to scheduling and raise. Not recommended for people who need the job to survive and cover their expenses. Only good for part time students looking for flexible hours.
Pros
Free bubble tea at work
Cons
Poor management system and huge biases towards seniority

Managers were often late for meetings THEY scheduled. Schedule and group chat was disorganized. Other people here say they're racist to non asians. For me, they wer'nt. But I felt a hostility I didn't understand. That made it toxic/stressful. Learning drinks was cool but many peers don't help, explain anything or communicate with you (even managers). But, some people are cool there.

The company is expanding so they have a lot of stores within Toronto and GTA. If you work well and manage good relationship with your colleagues, you can get a lot of hours which means you can earn quite good amount of money compared to perks in the industry. Competitive culture but it will push you work smarter. Just try to avoid all of the drama though.

They're rapidly expanding, so there is a lot of room to move up into management position if you're willing to relocate. They provide you with excellent training.

Management is great, very nice but also fair at the same time. Always trying to help. Schedule can be very flexible. Great work culture, co-workers are usually very friendly, not a strict work environment but everyone does their part. For the first two months, you will most likely be stuck on cash which can get annoying but over time you start learning how to make the drinks, very fast environment, need to be aware of what is going on around you at all times.

Ran on favoritism and unfair treatment from Asian corrupt management. Will give you less than the required legal hours you are supposed to work in a week during probation period and can continue if they do not feel like they need you. The store at Sq One will also not distribute the tips towards their employees and will keep it instead for the cash register (if it runs out of change in the future). This job is ran by favoritism, if you are not "Chinese" and dont get along with the managers, then they will fire you or will not have patience for you and will force you to do all of the work while they just joke around with each other and do nothing.
Pros
a free small drink
Cons
Corrupt, disorganized (using Wechat), lazy management, corrupt management, favoritism and unfair treatment of employees.

An incredibly lonely, stressful, depressing experience. Unwelcoming environment, awful customers, horrible management. If you have a history of mental illness of some sort, apply with extreme caution, as it can tend to flare up.

The wages you are given are way too low for the amount of work you're expected to do: scrub the washroom clean. Clean, peel, cut 4 different fruits, spend all day peeling, cutting, chopping mangoes non-stop. Tie 15 boxes, flatten them down, take the garbage, compost, recycling out. Make 7 different drinks, all varying sugar levels, in less than 5 minutes, while a customer who has never done a day of retail in their life believes that a day or two ordering at a bubble tea store is somehow equal to the amount of drilling that you've gone through for the recipe to get into your head. Watch as someone breaks the lid on their drink for the umpeenth time, spilling it everywhere on the floor and countertop from the flimsy paper straws, and smile as you insist that it's okay. You take out the mop for the second time that week. Smile all day, no breaks, your back hurts, but you have to learn to deal with it. Deal with angry customers, angry coworkers looking for an outlet, and an angry manager who's annoyed at something that one of your coworkers did, but sees you as an easy target. Don't try to explain. It's your fault now, and you take it as it is.

The hours are incredibly long, it's constantly understaffed, and the manager doesn't even bother to hire any new people, leading to back-to-back shifts that leave you completely exhausted. You can only pray

Micro management, regional or store manager, your treated equally, broken Promises, lack of experience people. Schedules posted every Monday and if anyone is not performing, you will get penalized by not getting scheduled by the owner. Nothing is put in place, human rights does not exist.
Pros
There isnt any.
Cons
Way to much to list.

Great owner. Staff was good. Free bubble tea! They could pay their staff better, Managers specially ! One guy I met was there for 3 months and got paid the same as I did the first day I started, and he was a top notch guy. So maybe they can see who there top performers are and give them a raise. You will have to travel and they sorta compensate. Overall good company!
