Rbc has gone downhill fast.
Senior banking advisor (Current Employee) – Winnipeg, MB – 17 February 2020
When I started at rbc well over a decade ago, it was a decent place to work. I was proud to work for such an established financial institution, sadly, not anymore. Over the years, the work environment has become more and more toxic to the point of being unbearable. I am currently looking for new employment. My immediate manager and coworkers are trying our best to navigate thru the nearly impossible metrics that corporate expects from us, but there is no end in sight. You can’t win a game if the goal post keeps moving. Our work load has increased 3 fold in the last couple of years with no compensation (or very very little). They came out with a new bonus structure, which is unattainable to reach Maximum results. I am at the same “level” as previous bonus structure, but payout has been cut in half. All that matters are the numbers,(sales,Acw,aht) clients and employees are an after thought. On top of that, my job has moved from customer service, to the complaint line. Clients are increasingly becoming more and more unhappy with rbc for a multitude of reasons, and front line staff take the brunt of it. Corporate has no interest in trying to keep experienced staff and the new hires are getting sub par training. I was expecting to stay with rbc until retirement, but for my own mental heath I am choosing to leave.
