Housing support workers aim to meet the needs of clients with significant housing barriers including mental illness, drug addiction and street entrenchment. This is a challenging field of work that requires a strong sense of ethics, compassion and stamina. I would recommend support work to those with a passion for social justice and alleviating homelessness.
It feels like you are just waiting around for the clients to die from their addiction and mental health problems. The rooms are dirty and hoarded .Needles everywhere.People smoking hard drugs in ops rooms and hallways.Very sad and miserable place to work
Bed bugs, drugs, needles, angry clients and guests, naloxing people, od’s
