Stay away, very unorganized..
Salary (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB3 October 2018
Stay away from this company, they unfortunately don't know their heads from there butts. If you're not a window washer in Calgary, don't bother with this company.

That is another reason why so many people left from this company. The company is ran by high school kids with no education nor any intelligence. Management is incompetent, what a joke!
Cons
low pay, long hours, In

One of the best
Current employee (Current Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB23 August 2018
RAC, like any other young company has had its share of growing pains. It has since become one of the biggest and best Rope Access companies in northern Alberta, and is continuing to grow. Great new management, great site Supervision, and great crews. Overall a great company to work for.
Pros
Competitive salary, great shifts, great family atmosphere
Cons
Still going through some growing pains

Rope Access Technician (Current Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB26 June 2018
Worked for RAC for quite some time now and I have seen the ups and downs as with any company. but in the end RAC has always come through and exceeded my expectations. I have personally worked for a couple different rope company's here in Canada and this place by far treats you the best. the pay is always on time and the wages are top notch and the local uplift you get for living in the wood buffalo region is great. over all don't hesitate to come work with us!
Pros
Top of the line cutting edge gear, never treated as a number
Cons
not being local you have to spend time away from loved ones.

Only if you are desperate
Rope Access Technician (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB13 April 2018
Has gone downhill due to very poor management and supervision. Used to be an amazing family vibe, but now that they’ve exapanded, they treat workers as less than human.
Expect your schedule to be constantly changed/ca cancelled up until the day you’re supposed to catch a flight to work.
Work has become quantity over quality and other companies are now taking over work scope because of RAC’s low quality. Safety has taken a backseat to production and trying to make the company look good. Don’t risk your safety. Myself and other rope techs that were here for the long haul have had enough and left for companies that actually have respect for their workers and care about safety.
Too bad all good things must come to an end. RAC used to be so good.
Pros
None anymore
Cons
Poor management, unreliable schedule

At the bottom of Rope Companies to work for.
Rope Access Level 3 (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB20 March 2018
I would avoid working for this company, biggest issue is management, but you can say that about any Rope company in Canada. The pay is poor, bottom of what is offered in the Oil Sands. Why is it so low, because they run 2 person Rope Teams, cut travel benifits for those out of town, and drop the standards to hiring SPRAT 3s instead of IRATA 3s because those less skilled window lickers are deperate for any job in the Oil Sands, that's how they under bid the competition.
Stay clear of this company, there are others... but they arent much better.
Pros
Its Rope Access
Cons
Poor wages, unsafe 2 Man Teams, Sprat 3s, limited gear

Busiest yet worst of the Rope companies in Fort Mac.
Rope Access Technician (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB15 March 2018
Dependant on where they put you to work, hours and pay vary but low wage in comparison to other Rope companies in the region.
Management's a mess but so is every company in this industry it seems. Supervisors and management are cliqu'ey so unless you're a granola loving climber from the west coast who doesn't shower, or work, you can forget about getting in there. Not that you'd want to if you weren't.
It's a job, not a career. Sometimes they need to be reminded of that as well.
Pros
They pay on time, theres always work
Cons
Dirty sites, sometimes hours are unreasonable, inexperienced bosses/ supervisors

Run far far away from R.A.C
IRATA Technician (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB10 June 2015
Horrible Management. Low pay, make a lot of promises they don't keep up with. Don't take a job with this company because you're desperate, it's not worth it. Ask myself and the other 20+ employees that quit in the last 6 months alone.

Would not recommend working here
Rope Access Technician (Current Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB31 May 2015
Serious issues with management. Lack of organization, no structure. Company is unaware of the specific business functionality in Fort McMurray. Employees are under paid for the cost of living in the area, but expected to take on multiple tasks for said low wage.
