Set up to fail.

The company is set up to fail.
For starters, the margin on the product is tiny and there are heavy fixed overhead and operational costs. This means that as a rep you need to sell around 70 cases/day just to cover the costs of employing you and paying to fill up the van.
So, you can see where there is an enormous and necessary constant push to get and keep your numbers up. This leads to another design flaw with the company. ONE PRODUCT ALONE. Unlike the competitors who can offer deep discounts on their energy drinks and prop the profits up with other aspects of their business, PB has only one already low margin product, thus no flexibility on price.
Being so heavily and constantly quantity driven paints a rep in to a corner. A rep is tasked with building strong working relationships based on trust and mutual benefit. However, the PB objectives force the rep to look for ways to up their case count by any means necessary - this is always at the expense of the retailer.
If you are successful in hitting your high targets you should pat yourself on the back, but don't get too cocky. You are responsible for product freshness and there is serious trouble if expired cans are found in your territory.
Common sense would dictate that if you're tasked with plugging your stores all day every day, there will be some expired product that winds up in store. It doesn't take a genius to compare monthly PB sales targets to avg store sales to see the math doesn't work. But not only are you working for PB, you are answering to Red Bull Canada. Kitchen looking crowded yet?
In my experience,
  more... everyone was well intentioned but willfully blind to the flawed system we were working in.
There was no corporate culture, just shared misery - incidentally, good friendships can be born through shared misery.
I feel this is a more accurate description of what the job entails than the picture the indeed description paints. I haven't mentioned the pre and post work that is required of you. I.e. loading van, daily sales plan, deposit...but this covers the meat and potatoes of the gig.
Nice people.
Extremely long hours, zero corporate strategy, no real advancement opportunities
