It was a fantastic experience overall. I did work alone most of the time, therefore time management is crucial and I wrote the introduction and did editing for a published book.

Highly stressed environment

Working at PHSD was a highly stressful environment due to many factors; poor corporate culture, racism, prejudice, discrimination, closed minded small and restrictive thinking. Reactive and not proactive. They don't know what they don't know and are not listening.

Sudbury & district Health Unit

Office Assistant- Health Promotion (Former Employee) - Greater Sudbury, ON - 23 July 2014

This 80 hour placement enabled me to observe and participate in several divisions at the Sudbury & District Health Unit including: MOH office Health Promotions Director’s office Print Shop, Corporate Services Division Healthy Communities and Workplaces Team Roles and Responsibilities Learned: creating minutes for a working group meeting collating policies and procedures in an email to the Executive Security assisting with Board of Health meeting setup updating databases and client information creating an inventory of resources using the print shop machines such as the folder and the cutter assisting with mail runs
