Inspector (Current Employee) - Manitoba - 21 April 2023
Great place to work. It can be stressful at times, however it is usually self inflicted. If I wasn't leaving to a different province I would continue to work here until retirement.
Pros
Always learning.
Cons
Can be very busy with boiler start-ups.

Building Superintendent (Current Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 11 August 2023
Started in April 2023 and very grateful to work with great staff and the wage/benefits are very good too. I would recommend this job to anyone who really wants to work.
Pros
Very good starting wage and benefits
Cons
Physically demanding and stressful at times but the job is mostly easy and pays well

Toxic
Correctional Officer (Former Employee) - Dauphin, MB - 29 July 2023
Training suggests things have changed from the "good old days". Practice shows that this is untrue. Staff setup conflicts to "practice " hands on intervention
Pros
pay
Cons
stressful, toxic

Handcuffs and PTSD
OC1 (Former Employee) - Winnipeg, MB - 20 April 2023
Community better informed on mental health issues of OC’s. Know occupation stress injuries and how to care for yourself prior to starting. This job doesnt provide adequate services for staff. It can be a good job if are willing to take initiative and expect nothing in return. You do it for you. SUO’s and above is pretty elite. Lots of back stabbing to climb ranks. Cherry picking is very common. Organization pits staff against each other. Part time on call work is the first indicator of what you’re in for. Toxic workplace.
Pros
Decent income, experience valued during hiring process.
Cons
Inconsistencies, questionable supervisory and management tactics.
