Horrible
Forklift Operator (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON7 April 2019
The full time staff are the bosses and the temporary workers get paid half the salary but do all the work and get none of the credit. Only full time employees are given benefits and vacation. Fellow employees treat each other badly, it's like middle school all over again, taking behind your back, telling your boss on you and not working together to get the job done. It came to no surprise to me to see that the brockville plant was closing.
Pros
None

Treated badly by co workers and full time staff

wasn't great but I needed money
Floor Hand (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON5 April 2019
12 hour shifts were not fun but it put money in my pocket. The work wasn't for me, it was a grind every shift but the people were nice. I would not want to work there again.

Has seen better days
Electrical Instrumentation Technician (Current Employee) –  Brockville, ON24 February 2019
Has been a great place to work with lots of opportunity to develop skills in all aspects of manufacturing from mechanical and electrical to leadership and teamwork.
The focus in the past few years has been on LEAN manufacturing, which has provided more training opportunity and saved the company millions. Workers now have multiple skills and wear multiple hats which, unfortunately, doesn't always allow for mastery of essential skills.
The team environment in the manufacturing departments is supportive and "family" like at my location.
Pros
wages, overtime
Cons
12h shift work, understaffed on the lines

Cons

racist and sexist old men
temp (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON13 February 2019
had some nice perks but were strongly outweighed by the old male staff and the environment that they created for women, especially young women. They would place bets on which department would get the hottest student intern during the summer. Keep in mind that the students were not only 17 or 18 but also daughters of coworkers.
Regular sexist jokes and not allowing women to do certain tasks.
Pros
product sales
Cons
sexism, culture

sometimes laid back workplace, management could use a few pointers
Contract technician (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON21 November 2018
relatively good place to work, decent pay for the work required. long hours make it a tiring place to be after a third 12 hour shift in a row. when management provides feedback, it tends to be at the end of a 12 hour shift, leaving the one who is receiving the feedback in a tired state of mind unable to properly voice their opinion.
Pros
good people for the most part
Cons
long hours, if management needs to talk to you, they do it at the end of your shift when you want to go home and sleep

Not the company that I was hired for..forgotten that it's employees are its greatest asset..
Technician and Team Leader (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON17 October 2018
P&G used to be about the people. They were it's biggest asset. I loved working for this company.
This is no longer the case with Procter and Gamble. It has become the same as so many other companies, where the bottom line is king and people have become throw away. The plant that I worked for was ranked number 1 in North America and has always held a position of influence in the P&G community, however, it was determined that it wasn't viable with the 'new' view of the future. They are closing the doors in 2020 and moving all the production to a 'mega' site in the US. Many wonderful employees are being forced to relocate (to another Canadian P&G site, as we cannot work for extended periods of time in the US) or seek employment elsewhere.

Shunt truck driver (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON22 July 2018
Decent place to work if your co workers like you. Pay is ok. Hours are good once you get used to them. Lower and middle management is good. Upper management is horrible.

Secure job with benefits, long hours of days/nights, clique-oriented workplace
Contract Technician (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON31 March 2018
Run the line of machines, replace materials when needed. It's tedious work, and often times you'll find yourself with nothing to do while you wait for materials to run out. In this case, you'll have to occupy yourself with cleaning the area if you want to look good for management.

Workplace culture is similar to high school with cliques of people. The Cliques usually form based on the department you work in, or your position. Contract techs (CTs) hang out with other CTs, full time techs with full time techs, management with management, etc.

Hardest part of the job is trying to make it through the 12 hour shifts, and switching from days to nights constantly.

Most enjoyable part of the job is working with people you get along with. Conversation really helps pass the time.
Pros
Benefits, gym access, consistent hours, secure
Cons
Long hours, sleep cycle constantly changing

Modern Day Slavery
Line Worker (Former Employee) –  Brockville, ON2 February 2018
Disrespected by all staff, and expected to run until injury occurs. Dirty facility. No such thing as safety. Bias authority everywhere. No system to abide by at all. It was always how much you were liked by those put in charge. I was talked to like a dog multiple times here. I'm glad it's closing down.
