Lack of job security and good job culture
Cashier (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 28 August 2023
The restaurant I worked at did not have a set schedule and they only called you in if they liked you. The managers barely trained their employees and got upset if you were confused or lost as new employees. Overall, they really need to improve their methods and increase their professionalism and how they treat their employees.
Pros
Sometimes you were allowed to take free snacks such as fries
Cons
Lack of job security and professionalism

Jobs at Popeye's Restaurants
Okay if your a teenager.
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) - Burnaby, BC - 31 July 2023
Manager schedules based on what THEY need, not based on when you can work. Gave them my schedule multiple times just for them to put me down to work on those days, then say that its my job to get my shift changed if I couldn't work it even though I was never even available on said days. Manager shows no respect for employees. If you mess up or forget sometime during busy hours it is YOUR fault. Not much diversity in the workplace either. Would not work here again.
Pros
Easy to learn, Good Discount
Cons
Busy, No Diversity, Rude Manager

Choose it as the last option
Cashier (Former Employee) - Lakeshore, ON - 27 July 2023
If I had had the option to rate negatively, I would have happily done that. I worked at the Lakeshore one as a part-time employee. I was unsuitable just because of my background in HR, and I could really identify the gaps, what they lacked, and what they should be doing. What they lack: A company culture of support and encouragement rather than business motives of profit. Management could learn some basic manners about how to talk with employees. Single mistakes are even noted and pointed out so badly.
Pros
30% discount
Cons
30 min break for 8 hours

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 24 July 2023
they pay you minimum and expect you to do literally everything and more. The work is labor work and is totally not worth your mental and physical health.

Stressful
Cook (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 23 June 2023
Wouldn't recommend working here unless there is no other option. Only 2-3 people (including you) would work at a time and there will only be 1 cook all the time...unless the manager knows how to cook then he/she can help for 5 minutes then back on your own. Night shifts gets very busy. Sometimes don't even get time for a break. It's not easy like dropping frozen item into fryer, you have to take chicken, apply batter, apply flour, remove excess flour from all chicken by tapping 2 at a time, then drop the chicken and shift the flour at the end. All the dishes are expected to be cleaned by the cook.
