Dynamic Working Environment - Lots of Opportunity

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
This company offers many advantages:-paid training -competitive benefits-opportunities for advancement -collaborative work environments-travel perks-education reimbursement-competitive pay-annual achievement awards-length of service programPomeroy Lodging's core values are the basis to which they make all decisions, which is rare in an employer. They really do care about their employees, the communities they work in, and their guests. I've learned endless skills and have experienced so much growth, thanks to working with them.

Pros

Wonderful perks and benefits, endless development opportunities for those looking to grow their career.

Cons

Long hours are possible, but that's hospitality in general!

Management and Company doesn't care about their employees!!!

I've worked here for over a year and this company is a joke. Where are the Core Values they keep talking about when they don't even listen to their employees. They don't even care if you're being bullied by your supervisor, they always think she's high almighty because she's a two face. For a management, you should care and listen to a bunch of your employees over one person. Bullying you say? Yes, save yourself and don't work here because your going to be supervisor is a bully. And yes, they still won't fire her despite of all the reports and stress we've dealing with everyday. Their response is always, "If you're not happy here then quit." Uhmm, yeah okay. That's how you handle the situation. This company isn't even 2 years old and they already had 2 GM, 2 HSK Manager, 2 Supervisors, 5 Breakfast attendants, more than 20 housekeepers and front desk attendant that either got fired or left because of how unorganized this hotel is. No raise either for those who've worked hard since. Don't lie and tell the new applicants that you will give them raise because that's never happening. Save yourself some stress and DON'T WORK HERE!!!

Cons

No proper amenities, No linens, No gloves, No respect given, No raise

The place your soul goes to die

3 words. Management doesn't care. The turnover at this location is very very high. Theres a few reasons. For one, minimum wage rose, but no one got a raise. You just lowered everyone who works for you closer to poverty, when they're supposed to be working a higher paying job *read; security* They will tell you you're going to get a raise. You won't. Management will gossip about you with the staff, they will backstab you every chance they get. Employees all hate eachother. And dont even think about having a life outside of work. They will work you to death. Until you want to die. They do not care what your availability is, they will schedule you anyways.

Front Desk - Olds, Ab.

No time off, won't work around other jobs, stressful, confidentiality is a big "0". They don't know what confidentiality is, and breach it alot, rewrite the schedule over and over so you can't plan any appt. Etc.... Worst place ever to work, don't suggest applying here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

It's a good place to work

I have learned so many things in this job like:- 1) How to handle pressure in busy situations. 2) Build good relationship with other employees. 3) Management at this job is also good because they know how to make their employees happy and the same time they handle the business. 4) The hardest part of the job is really nothing because i really know how handle my job. 5) Most enjoyable part of the job you really get to know your employees and it help you to understand how they feel about the job and the company.

Pros

Free lunch every month and birthday month celebration and gift cards for appreciation.

Cons

Longs hours.
