Transfer Driver (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 4 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThe job itself is rewarding and pretty good, if you can make it work, however this company is poorly managed. Note compensation is basically minimum wage, on call positions have to be paid 3 hours for a period of 24 hours if there are no calls, this company pays $50 (divide by 3 hours is roughly $16/hr), some transfers will take over an hour to complete , perhaps up to 4 hours, in that case you get less than minimum wage for that time. As Team lead you get a bi weekly or monthly top up, which still amounts to less than minimum wage as you will be expected to be available 24/7 and use money out of your own pocket for the business expenses and hope that the employer will feel generous enough to reimburse you. Everything is done through an app, I could never access the one for paystub so no clue if I received the wages I was supposed to, if you get a “top up” for extra work you won’t receive the pay for no calls, and likely they might schedule you 5, 6 or even 7 24 hours shifts in a row on call. Note also that shifts start at 7pm to 12am (first shift) so you will never get compensation for that time if there are no calls, last shift is always 12 am to 7pm, once again less than 24 hours so no compensation for no calls, for the 24 hours duration you might get compensation if the company feels like it. You will at some point have to get up in the nighttime for calls, often drivers will be scheduled to use their own vehicles, and it’s not always possible for partners to meet up or pick up because they want you to complete the calls as fast as possible. This company has a very high -

Fulfilling work
Team Lead (Current Employee) - Prince Albert, SK - 14 July 2023
The job we do at Platinum is vital and fulfilling. Regular duties feel rewarding and I always feel what I'm doing is necessary. I've had the opportunity to travel across three provinces over the course of working with Platinum. In those travels I've had the opportunity to assist families and their loved ones during what can be the most difficult time of transition.
Pros
Unique experiences, Fulfilling role, Great team, Incredible learning opportunity, Exciting work environment
Cons
Unpredicatable hours
