Good Company

employers are very responsive and supportive. Overall it is very flexible with scheduling shifts and allows us to self-schedule according to our preferences

Flexible hours

Overall good job, enjoyed making my own schedule & various incentives for picking up last minute shifts/overtime! Can be difficult adjusting to different care homes but administrative team is very supportive

Friendly work enviroment, good support from management.

A great team, always trying to give back and find out how we can improve healthcare. The StaffStat app is a great tool - gives staff the flexibilty they need. Work when you want - great as a secondary job.

Flexible but lack of support from management

The flexibility and pay of the job are decent, but the work environment of long-term care homes can be generally toxic and full of burnt out co-workers. Because it is an agency, management is out of the loop regarding the work standards their employees are subject to and have provided little support when told about toxic or inappropriate experiences at work.

Flexible shifts good staff easy going lots of job opportunities the best part about plan a is you make your own schedule with the exception of working at least 4 shifts minum a month

Flexible and easy going

Most office staff are very flexible and will work with you. They don’t always let you orient to new homes which you won’t have enough hours if you can’t go to multiple homes.

They will tell you what you want to hear.

I was told there would be tons of opportunities in my home town. Once I agreed and signed the offer letter the only shifts that were ever sent my way were well over an hour drive, even though I told them at the interview multiple times what my limits were in terms of distance, they would only offer placements well outside of that and act like they were doing me a favour. I'm pretty sure they just hope you take the job, work those placements because you financially have to, and then keep recruiting with the same dishonest tactics until you ultimately quit because it's not the job you had signed on for. It's a shame because they used to have a great reputation, but their current practices are tarnishing that quickly.

Collaborative, supportive, flexible and fun!

What is the best part of working at the company?Being able to create your own schedule to fit your lifestyle and the opportunity to work at multiple sites and experience different settings.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Having to follow multiple sets of policies and procedures, both from the company and the facility you are working at. Remembering who to call for what and when and what you can and can’t do as agency staff.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Warm and welcoming, they are always so excited to have new team members! They are happy to work with you to find a facility that is a good fit for you and/or make sure you are comfortable working in given scenarios. In my experience everything has been over the phone or through Zoom calls so you rarely go into the office. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Typically you check your StaffStat to see what shifts are available and try to keep up with your minimum monthly commitment(3 shifts a month at that time). If it’s a day you’re working, you get ready as usual and head to the facility. Sign in in the Plan A binder and go about your shift as normal. At the end of the day you sign out in the binder and return any keys. There is also usually an app for education and you check that routinely to keep up on any documents or education that needs doing.

What an Aweful Stressful Place to be.

I have been with Plan A for over a year. The entire year has been chaos. There's been multiple times I can't pay my bills. They have work then they have no work. You have benefits then you don't have benefits. I don't know anyone that can actually live and support a family working for Plan A I would never recommend it to anyone. Whole year of my life I have to go and make up for. I Hate Plan A.

Dishonest

They hire too many people and shifts are hard to come by. You will pick up a shift for a specific unit/house and then they send you all over the place. The company will not do anything if you have any complaints. They give shifts to their favourite employees all the time. No fairness at all.

Very unorganized

Company hires staff without being able to provide any locations or hours. Got hired with this ccompany over a month ago and havent been able to recieve any hours.Id recommend Accella Staff or Health OPM as they will gurantee hours and pay more. Very poorly run.

Alarming for those who are willing to work at plan a halton

I was hired for the position for recruiter and Scheduler. These guys will involve you in meetings, meetings and a lot of meetings in training period ( your first week itself) even when you're not needed to attend those. And the meeting will last for atleast an hour or two. P.S there are atleast 3-4 meetings each day. Instead of training on software and other daily tasks, they will indulge your whole day with meetings and still expect you to be better on working with software and other stuffs. Because of their meetings, it leaves you no time even to finish your other work. They badly lack time management as well as prioritizing tasks. And due to lack of training, they will review your performance and ask you to resign as you don't performed well. This company is a big time confidence breaker. Be aware abs and run as far as you can.

Super flexible schedule and friendly management

I always recommend Plan A to HCWs who are are in search of a job with a flexible schedule and more than fair pay. Management are so friendly and work so hard to ensure I am happy with my schedule and my hours. Management are proactive and are always available at all hours for questions or concerns. They offer a benefit package.

Could be better

It's great that I get to pick up my own shifts, they pay quite well and the staff are mostly friendly. The only problem is actually getting shifts and meeting the shift requirements. When asking to work at different places they put you in a loop for months having to ask over an over saying they will call you back and never really do. Its hard to pick up shifts because they are pretty much taken right away.They want people to work but don't really help them to do so.

Wonderful supportive company

I've been with Plan A Halton for just over a year and have been completely satisfied. The flexibility of maintaining a fair work-life balance has been amazing- personally having a small child.The Plan A team are always so pleasant and supportive and just a phone call away if needed. They are very prompt on replies and solving issues. They always have something fun for the staff each month (for example- contests). Wonderful company to work for!

A wonderful place to work!

Plan A was everything I had been looking for as a recent Certificate holder for Resident support aide! They take the time to get to know you and what your expectations are for hours and shift types. The Management team is always quick and responsive to staff and treats them with the utmost respect!
