Positive overall but downsides were pay and travel

Environmental Technologist (Former Employee) - Dartmouth, NS - 5 June 2023

It was a good group of people when I work there. As an Environmental Technologist the pay was not great mid 40s per year about 4 years ago. The only way to make halfway decent money was to be on the road a lot because they pay milage and cover your food. The travel wears on you over time.

Poor Management

Hazardous Material Project Technologist (Former Employee) - Regina, SK - 6 May 2022

Had me doing Asbestos abatement testing for a few months before putting me through the official training. Extremely lucky to have not been exposed. Was my first job in the safety industry and didn't want to step on toes. Was told to make due with faulty PPE and wasn't properly informed about all the hazards untill 3 months on the job.

Good hours and solid pay

Cons

Micromanagement, lack of safety awareness and training, toxic office culture

Technologist (Former Employee) - Ontario - 23 March 2022

Work life balance barely exists so don't bother if you have kids or can't work 12-14 hour days, nights and sometimes weekends with no lieu days to rest. While working in the field don't expect to be able to stop for food or water and complete the task on time.You are compensated for over time.
