Not a horrible place to work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Wasn’t such a bad place. Staff is friendly, most stressful part is knowing someone’s life is in your hands and sometimes people do get aggravated with wait times for prescriptions.

Pros

Lunch breaks were appropriate

Cons

Long time on your feet

Poor Management and poor Supervision

Co-workers are very nice, but management and supervisors are very difficult and can be downright unpleasant to deal with. They often stress their employees out over silly little unimportant things, giving you a never ending earful over it, then expect you to bend over backwards for them... Not a healthy work environment to be honest.

Pros

Great coworkers, and 30-45 min lunch breaks (depends if your working 8 hours or more though)

Cons

Manager and supervisors are very difficult to deal with. Also, you often get no more than 15-20 hours a week.

Slow-paced and laid back

You get to know many of your usual customers which makes a friendly environment, very relaxed and slow-paced environment, especially on weekends. Friendly staff.

Productive atmosephere and great co workers.

A typical day at work would include help in opening store. Receiving and checking all orders to invoices that came to the store. Maintained superior customer service. Maintained cleanliness and store displays. Ordered special orders for customers. Cashed out at the end of the day/ balancing of debit / credit machines and cash.

Amazing job with flexible hours

I loved this job so much, there is independence between the pharmacies but they still maintained some unity between how their pharmacy should present itself. Boss was super nice, was okay with you booking time off or having your lunch. However she paid below minimum wage ($13) (but it was cash upfront!) and they only spoke their own language, so if you didn't understand it you would be in trouble. They used Fillware systems exclusively, easily my favorite system to use. You will be responsible for everything as the pharmacy assistant -- from ordering to processing, adjudications and filling. The pharmacist is essentially only there to counsel.

Pros

worked weekends, hours were amazing and boss was friendly

Cons

pay was below minimum wage (cash upfront) and big language barrier between staff

This job was great

This job was great, I only worked the weekend (Saturday 9-6) Love the people that worked there as well as the customer's. Cashier, lotto tickets, checking for expiry dates, pulling expired product off. only down thing about working here was the nasty notes left by the full time cashier.

Pros

Beautiful people to work with

Cons

the full time cashier

Small individual ownership

If you are looking for small working places, this may be your option. You have time to know people there so well. You can negotiate your salary, but the more you ask, the more they want back from your working. more than they pay you.

Pros

slow pace, Private owner, You have time to know people

Cons

Not much benefits, working safety depends on the owner's care

job satisfaction

owner of the pharmacy is not good as employer. he is playing with all his employees and their job for his personal profit. he hired lots of students for free and play with their career.
