Stressful and sometimes underpaid
Pharmacy Assistant (Current Employee) – Vancouver, BC – 28 August 2017
Depending on which location you work at, this job may or may not be enjoyable. At busier pharmacies, there is almost no time for breaks (even to go to the bathroom), lunches are limited to 30 minutes on-site (can't leave the dispensary) and work is distributed unequally and can be a nightmare depending on which position you work (pacmed/pacvision and filling = relaxed, data entry and pharmacist = hectic). No raises are given unless you threaten to leave the company, and don't be surprised if coworkers that have less experience than you and/or easier jobs make more money. Negotiate your wage as best as you can BEFORE being hired because otherwise it is difficult to increase salary.
Pays better than retail
Doesn't pay as well as it should given the workload
