It is the place to grow this
Product Development (Current Employee) –  Burnaby, BC23 April 2018
Work at PerfectMind is challenging and satisfying. A lot is happening everyday and most of it is cause there is always more work than people. The company is always looking for good talent and hiring for multiple positions.

Everyday there is a new learning opportunity at PerfectMind. The system and service provided as the company's main product is complex and has been developed over many years taking over a competitor which has been in the market for over 20 years. You can count on learning something technical every day and the team is using new technologies and tools at a very fast pace.

Management is varied depending the team you are part of. Some are seasoned managers with good knowledge and experience on leading teams and some are new but willing to learn. The company used to have a flat organization structure but is moving towards two-four levels of management. Obviously not all processes are defined between teams and departments.

The workplace culture is also forming as the teams are growing but overall everyone is helpful and friendly. It is not a big enough company to have politics and the speed of work requires less heavy processes which leads to less politics. A young and energetic team results in a homely environment with lots of social activities.

The most challenging part of work at PerfectMind is the amount of work compared to the number of people doing it. There is always something that has to be prioritized and something delayed for future.

Satisfaction comes when work is delivered to clients and we see how we have made a difference in the lives
more... of our neighbors and people living in cities and using the Parks and Recreational facilities or the martial arts schools or yoga classes near them. The focus is health and wellness services which is a good thing to be a part of.  less

The Not So “Perfect” Mind
Annoymous (Former Employee) –  Burnaby, BC11 May 2017
It all comes down to the Executive Team, and their lack of understanding how to run an organization.
Don't ruin your career and don't waste your time!
Pros
Nothing to add. The worst organization I have come across in any shape and form.
Cons
The lack of structure, processes, resources, attention, and appreciation make your daily job a living nightmare.

Backwards Thinking - No Future for Great Talent
Annoymous (Current Employee) –  North Vancouver, BC5 December 2016
here are so many cons to list, it will require more space than allowed to list but here we go...

1) Upper Management are the key to such dissatisfaction
2) Salary Ranges & Benefits - are below industry standards and they don't seem to care, or feel it's an issue. Nothing will change on this front
3) Lack integrity when it comes to selling the product -
4)Favoritism is displayed for some employees who have been loyal, even though they are not the right fit for their role.
5) Lack of training
6) Lack of open and honest feedback
7) Cultural issues - the owner and the entire management team are persian and they truly do not want to be coached or told how to improve things
8) Lack of empowerment - Managers that are hired to run their departments are not able to - you need to be simply a "messenger" not a leader and impact change. This why the Director of Sales, Sales Manager's, Customer Support Managers, Digital Marketing Manager and VP of Product have all left.
9) Ridiculously cheap - even when we have social hour, the drinks are being distributed, one by one, not allowed to have more than what is given. Coffee/Food/Office Supplies are locked up and not available to obtain freely - we have to ask for everything. This individual is constantly turning off our office lights throughout the day, plus at the end of the evening - he does this religiously, thinking that he is saving the company money...He is constantly monitoring people's schedules and will report them to their manager, if they leave 15 mins early
Pros
Not many to report
Cons
Too many to list - see review

Toxic environment
Sales (Current Employee) –  North Vancouver, BC13 April 2016
The "management" here are by far at the bottom of the barrel. Fear is the main way they get you to do things. They find any way they can to not pay you owed money. Watch out if you make a mistake......the CEO himself will comedown on you... Sad really...
Pros
None
Cons
Fearful toxic environment. Office space is dirty, dark and in need of renovations. All the managers are family.

Far too political
Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC27 July 2013
Comes from a martial arts past, still has some of the dojo vibe. Yes, you just read that about a software company. Perfect Mind is owned by Champions Way, a martial arts software company.
While Perfect Mind is actually a pretty cool application, you can tell the CEO is a martial arts instructor. The company pushes people very hard, without much reward. Most staff are very underpaid, while some are obviously overpaid. There are some great people there, but the best ones usually leave. The work experience is probably the best part about Perfect Mind... you can usually find a decent paying job afterwards with your work experience there.
Pros
Fruit, coffee, minor medical benefits, occasional social outings
Cons
Long hours, low pay, high pressure, poor management
