What is the best part of working at the company? Its a really great team from top to bottom! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? I haven't had that experience with this company. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Well we are 3rd party contractors so we are placed in different client companies, each site is different. What is a typical day like for you at the company? A lot of favouritism at workplace
Security Guard (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 14 April 2021
There is favouritism in the workplace which isn't fair to others when you put in more work and don't get acknowledged. Staff is completely disorganized and don't expect any help from managers as they never address your concerns. The power lies in the hands of a few people and whoever is their favorite, gets the best. Really stressful work environment as you constantly experience increased feelings of resentment and decreased motivation due to favoritism. They won't care if you've been working with them for years and you choose to resign due to workplace issues. I've seen hard working and experienced people resign and the managers never try to fix the issues. All they will do is simply replace you with a new guard. They do not realize the long term effects. Favouritism has a negative effect on the Company's growth and if left unaddressed, it can break a team apart and hurt the company's bottom line. The Management needs to take these issues seriously.

Better than most
Security Guard (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 3 March 2020
Better than Paragon for sure in a lot of ways. After being in the wrong company for almost 10 years, Peregerine were totally happy to take me in immediately and they have treated me with far more respect than any other employer I have ever had. Only thing is they are understaffed and they do not have enough mobile. Certain times they make mistakes at the office too. It could be far worse though.

Needs hew management
Security Technician Part Time (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 18 April 2019
Got the job as as a experienced cable tech, not so much into alarms. I was assigned to work with senior tech on some existing projects. Run cables as agreed and connections mostly rg45. Small size company. The menager is trying to do his job, I thing he doesn't care a lot or he is not good with people. The senior tech I was assigned to work with cut corners on every possible way, keep telling me don't work hard, let's leave it for tomorrow etc. He was on the phone with the menager most of the time like they are lovers. Finally they told me don't come from monday, we'll call you. I found another job, not sure what happened with those two. Good luck.
Pros
Relaxing atmosphere
Cons
Bad management

Great company, difficult work
Operations Supervisor (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 6 October 2018
I found the work to be more stressful than I could handle. The biggest issue was with scheduling- being able to find people to cover shifts last minute is very, very stressful.
Pros
Good people
Cons
work on rotation

Top Shelf Security Company
CONCIERGE SECURITY SITE SUPERVISOR (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 5 January 2018
As far as security companies go Peregrine Protection is one of the better ones. Not too large to get lost in translation. They have a higher pay rate than most but also require a higher level of expertise and/or at least willing to comply.
Paid training and 24 hours support from the Operations department.
Even if a guard is at a site alone they are not absolutely alone because most sites are monitored by cctvs at the head office.
Pros
Transport guards via mobile supervisors.
Cons
Not a lot of room for advancement

Fun place to work, very nice management and staff
Concierge/Security Guard (Former Employee) - Don Mills, ON - 10 January 2017
Peregrine Protection's a nice environment to work in with your co-workers too, it's not uptight and rigid security micro-management. They trust their employees to do their jobs and they can be contacted immediately incase of an emergency. Hardest part of the job is patrols but that's in every security company, and they make it so you're doing a patrol when it's required.
Pros
Convenient, Flexible
Cons
Long hours, 12 hour shifts, typical
