Poor management, shift work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
You get shifted around different departments and it takes forever to get full time employment. Great people and meaningful work but management isn’t the greatest.

No consistency, inconsistent treatment of staff, not client- oriented

To many hands on the pot, no consistency within department, can't figure out how they want to manage things, affects the patients and staff morale in the end

I enjoy working this department. My colleagues are all very supportive and fun to work with!

I’ve worked here for 2 years. I enjoy coming to work each day. We have a great balance of work and fun. Everyone is so good to step in and help each other out.

We are chronically understaffed. However, the staff are wonderful and the right team can make your long day just a bit brighter. A good place to start your nursing career.

Pick up lots of shifts

difficult work environment

A difficult work environment with disconnect between bedside and leadership, leading to patient safety and staff safety challenges. Challenging workplace culture.

Productive and spoke to great people

A typical day for me involves learning to manage shifts without supervision as well as opening and closing the cafe. I learned the work culture and how to supervise the cafe, serve customers and stock amenities at the same time. I had a great time making friends at the cafe and it was great first job for me.

free lunches

Lacking room for advancement

Poor morale....often hear staff openly complaining about work environment and management. Policies on sick days before or after long weekend were very discouraging especially if attendance was exceptional for remainder of the year.

Very little room for advancement, tends to hire from outside rather than providing advancement opportunities for current staff

Work \Life Review

Excellent work place and environment. Very friendly and helpful Staff. Very accommodating with family life with regular wage increases after so many years of service.

Great place to learn with very helpful nurses

As a student nurse, I would go in to work on Thursdays and Fridays. All the nurses there were very willing to take on student nurses and to help us if needed. We would provide all the care for two or three clients for the whole day and have a conference with our teacher at the end of the day to discuss any issues, concerns or celebrations of that day.
