Upper management in the Canadian office is uninspiring. Lots of changes also happening, which has been tough for morale in the office. Typically a good place to work though. Decent work/life balance (depending on who you report into). Good perks like lunch.

PayPal was one of the best company company to work for back in 2007. The company culture is great, the management team was top. PayPal was skyrocketing when I worked there and it's too bad they didn't manage to win the payment industry.

At PayPal the most important thing is getting the job done, not how many hours you've spent in the office. It can be good and can be bad. Some days you'd finish early and can go to an early doctor's appointment without issues, on other days you might need to join a call at 6 am or 10 pm. PayPal offers a lot of opportunities for those who look and ask for them. If you do your job quietly and hope to get a raise you won't get it. You need to go out there and ask for it. It's a challenging environment that gives it's rewards. Unfortunately, management often changes so does the vision of the company. Projects get closed or revamped too often and you might end up throwing away all that work you've done. But it always gives you new interesting projects to work on. You yourself need to be flexible and ready for changes. And I think this might be the hardest part of the job. Depending on what team you work in, you might experience restructurisation and would have to do something else as your daily job slightly related to what you did before. I loved to work with people in this company as they all are motivated and ready for new challenges. They really are Team (with capital T), not just a bunch of people working together. You feel yourself a part of something when you work with people at PayPal.
