A typical day working at payless is normally somewhat quiet but by the end of the day, there is a good amount of clean up work to do. I carry merchandise to the front when they are running out and organize the back room. Overall, a nice peaceful place to work

the management was constantly changing and the environment never got any better. you get over worked and sometimes never get breaks. other times i wouldnt get shifts for months. it wasnt the best experience.

Fast Paced Environment & Flexible Hours

I have been working at Payless for a little over an year now, I love working here as it is very convenient for me regarding the timing, place, and work environment is very safe and fun. However, very sad that Payless is now closing all stores, hence, I am trying to look for another job with my experience and skills I have gained.

never coming back to this company

management was lazy, and in my store there would usually be two people on shift. so sometimes it was me and the manager. I would have to handle the store while who knows what the manager was doing in the backroom. customers are very rude and take advantage of the return policy. very negative vibes. store was completely unorganized as well.

Well organized place. Enjoyed being there. Learnt many experiences, such as cashier, selling items. The management was very organized, had schedules done a week before. The workplace culture was very welcoming and loving, all cared for each other and showed each other what to improve on and how we could improve. The most enjoyable part was being able to satisfy the customers needs and they leaving the store with the desired needs.

A great learning experience

A typical day at work consists of engaging with customers, finding desired shoes, measuring kid's feet, and ensuring the showcases for shoes displays were organized. The management was overall great, however there was a lack of employee training. I enjoyed working with my co-workers as they were very helpful and easy to work with. The hardest part of the job was the clean up procedure after each shift was completed. However, the most enjoyable part of the job was engaging with customers and being able to help someone.

Handling multiple customers in the store, balance between tasks and service. Paying attention to customer needs and detail to the company policies.Learning to handle tough situations on busy days. Cooperating as a team to get tasks and promote a great shopping experience for customers. Manager was encouraging teaching everyone how to manage the store when they weren't around. The most enjoyable part of my job was being able to satisfy the customers that were coming into the store to find something for a special occasion, everyday wear, or for work. It was just the desire to help them find what they were looking for that made my job seem successful at the end of the day.

A typical day @ work is very pressured, every day we have to force customers to buy things the do not want and to bother and burden them will browsing. it makes us looks desperate and like we are fightning for commission in order to survive.I think the should aloowed people to take their times and browse and shop without being pestered, for me I would never shop under those circumstances.
