Awful place to work
The only thing they care about is how shiny the rims are. Forced to work when you are houred out. when you refuse unsafe work you are thretened that you will loose your job. The owner only cares about one thing.the lady that gave the interview was very unprofessional. they promise you the world and its all lies. If you have any self respect do not work here. More people go through this place then a shopping mall. AWFUL place to work.

Secretive, misleading, unsafe work environment.
What started as a positive phone interview turned into a complete disappointment to be polite. IE; Base pay is less than entry labour rates anywhere else. Live out is only paid while away from shop, this was not disclosed until hire package was being completed. Employer "ONLY" pays operators beyond base rate at their discretion which you must sign off on before hired. Job description was not fully disclosed even after completing hiring package. Bonus percentage is based on management's "competency" acknowledgement for job descriptions that were never disclosed until 2 weeks after hire. While on location, I witnessed a mid level manager hand his front line manager alcohol during shift change. This manager then left location and subsequently had a MVA causing considerable damage to their company supplied pick up. Furthermore, that cross shift employee that was drove to location to replace me had already driven for 6+ hrs from the Sundre shop. Drive to location took another 2.5 hrs. then he worked 12+ hours before driving another 2.5 hrs back to GP. Management had me work 25+ hours on my 4th day of employment having failed to disclose that I was required to drive the last 4 hours back to GP due to the fact that the co-driver had already been driving for over 15 hrs after less than 2 hrs rest from doing an earlier 15 hrs. During this employment that lasted only 3 weeks, there were numerous violations regarding the well being of employees and my location manager alike. If you choose to work for this company, be sure to have a back up plan for accommodations and transportation.

Driver
Decent pay, weekends and long weekends off, pay always on time.... But other than that horrible company to work for. Very disorganized and then manager blames employee for not being organized and other lame excuses. Then fired 2 weeks before 3 month probation is up. Also expects to do sales in dirty stinky coveralls. Just a overall bad experience here. Would not recommend working here.

Stable employment, excellent compensation.
Pat's off road is a good place to work. I have worked here on and off for about 6 years. I have never seen anyone laid off due to lack of work or the company trying to save money. They have very good equipment, brand new in most cases and very well equipped late model trucks. Zero down time with break down's. Excellent salary + bonuses per km or by the job for heating. You can make serious money here if you are a serious person. Schedule can be hectic in the winter but very flexible in the summer and the company keeps guys on salary through the slow months so that's pretty cool. Great benefits as well. Don't listen to the nay waters, some people just can't make the cut.

Don't work here if you have self respect
The manager constantly belittles and degrades people behind their backs. They show no care for a workers safety. Constantly having your job threatened if you refuse unsafe work. Even on personal time. Very hard to get any straight answers. With hold information from the worker. Promise to give you time home before you start. Then they constantly send you out of town and when asked when you can come home. They dont know. Then your gone for 2-3 months.

Absolute chaos!
Agreed to try the job out in Sundre camp location. It was a double wide trailer with a bunch of people smoking inside during winter ! They tell you you’re a driver/operator but I spent a week building fences and odd jobs. Things like safety, proper equipment, communication, hours of service etc are a complete foreign concept here ! Work for them at your own risk as your comfort and concerns don’t even register with management

Cons
Employees don’t matter whatsoever

Working at Pat's is one of the Worst places to work, period!
They constantly expect you to work over your allowable hours. Even after you've been on duty for 24 hours, they still expect you to drive, even though you're fatigued. Eventually they are going to be responsible for someone killing themselves or others, because of their lack of concern for the driving rules. Mark my works, this if not an if, but a when. Worst job I have ever had. They treat you like garbage and threaten you with loosing your job everyday.

They lie.
Salary isn't really salary.
Hours are not paid fully, they lie about them.

No training offered or provided.

Travel time isn't compensated, even though they say it is.

Inexperienced management.
Pros
None.
Cons
All of them.

For Big Boys
Making money for those only who work hard and have no expectations of employer. Rewards are definitely are something to consider while overlooking all other factors.
Pros
Will show recognition if they see that you are a hard worker in the first three months, Subsistence helps for those who do not live in area of work.
Cons
Subsistance likely offered as local hires no longer an option, Openly braged about omitting owed subsistance when I quit, Neglect in providing proper parts to service equipment, You will likely buy your own shop hand soap and PPE for job, Missing crucial safeties in equipment, Not open to new ideas, your opinion doesn't matter, just do your job and be happy to get paid.
