Secretive, misleading, unsafe work environment.
What started as a positive phone interview turned into a complete disappointment to be polite. IE; Base pay is less than entry labour rates anywhere else. Live out is only paid while away from shop, this was not disclosed until hire package was being completed. Employer "ONLY" pays operators beyond base rate at their discretion which you must sign off on before hired. Job description was not fully disclosed even after completing hiring package. Bonus percentage is based on management's "competency" acknowledgement for job descriptions that were never disclosed until 2 weeks after hire. While on location, I witnessed a mid level manager hand his front line manager alcohol during shift change. This manager then left location and subsequently had a MVA causing considerable damage to their company supplied pick up. Furthermore, that cross shift employee that was drove to location to replace me had already driven for 6+ hrs from the Sundre shop. Drive to location took another 2.5 hrs. then he worked 12+ hours before driving another 2.5 hrs back to GP. Management had me work 25+ hours on my 4th day of employment having failed to disclose that I was required to drive the last 4 hours back to GP due to the fact that the co-driver had already been driving for over 15 hrs after less than 2 hrs rest from doing an earlier 15 hrs. During this employment that lasted only 3 weeks, there were numerous violations regarding the well being of employees and my location manager alike. If you choose to work for this company, be sure to have a back up plan for accommodations and transportation.
