Typical O&G company

Good overall experience. The company has been adapting to the new Climate Change reality by diversifying its portfolio. However, drilling still is the main business and it is well-positioned in the US and Canadian markets.

Best Company Ever!

Truly the best company I've ever worked for. They really care about their employees. I feel like I make an impact in my job, I'm not just a number! The leadership team is very approachable and open to new ideas and opinions. They really treat their employees well - giving Christmas gifts, bonuses, great benefits (full coverage for US and Canadian employees!!!), great pay, and all around great people. I plan to stay at Pason until I retire.

Company Events, Great Pay, Exceptional Benefits, Great Culture, Good Leadership, Open Door Policy

Global spread makes it hard to connect with employees internationally, Christmas week the company is open which most O&G companies close

Hire and Fire

These guys are clowns. When it is slow they will not hesitate laying you off. Their success completely depends on the rig count. If you are a younger developer, I would strongly suggest working in another industry with a more positive outlook. If you are ok with tying your success to Oil and Gas industry, then go ahead and work here.

Good place to work

Good place to work, but the down turn in the oil and gas caused layoffs. They take are of their employees, they respect their employees, and have a bottom up approach.

Excellent place to work with plenty coffee machines

of my three jobs in 20 years in Canada this was the place I liked best; excellent SRT team with great cooperation spirit and fun-loving people; great incentive to learn new technologies.

productive and fun workplace with table tennis tables

Nice place to work with good work life balance, good opportunities for further training, but is highly effected now by very low oil price which is happening in oil and gas industry.

A shadow of a once great company

Pason has increasingly moved farther and farther away from the company it once was, and what made it great. The senior managers are clueless and promote those who they are friendly with, nepotism is huge. Layoffs occur and usually target very talented people who aren't willing to giggle with the misogynistic leaders. If you aren't that bright but know how to kiss up, this is the company for you.

Friendly environment with a lot of growth potential

Great workplace culture - collaborative, flexible, fun, relaxed but at the same time challenging. People were great, approachable and friendly. The Company really strived on a team player environment.

Field Technician

The beginning is quite tough, but Pason doesn't have any previous requirements for field technicians. You do train for about two months, but then you really learn once you're out on your own. It's good pay and you work on your own most of the time. The culture is supposed to be gossip free but you always have those people that ruin it for everyone else. Otherwise, the culture is pretty good. You set your own schedule and have to be a self starter.

Good team to work for. Fun was part of the work. Agile and non-bureaucratic. the management takes care of the employees. I liked the gym facilities which was available 24x7.

Pason is a great place to get experience but isn't a great place to advance.

Pason's culture is not what it use to be. They continue to add office perks to make up for this. They say you have a right to challenge but it's just a slogan. They need to be more proactive in growing their people.

Good company, but poor management with particular teams

Mid-level management within certain teams is lacking in that they do not practice what they preach. While they say (and perhaps even believe) that they want low levels employees to move ahead in the company, they will deliberately with hold advancement opportunities from qualified internal candidates so as to prevent gaps in the low levels teams.

Bad O&G company & bad environment/culture

Very little teamwork and culture. Managers are not competent, condesending and although they say they want to be challenged they will try to "Manage You Out of the Business" if you challenge them. The entire culture is aggressive and sucks.

low pay, only interns and bad devs

Excellent place to work and gain new skills, take on new challenges

Excellent place to work, good work life balance. Lots of stuff to learn about the processes. Good opportunities for further training. Can be highly effected by what is happening in oil and gas industry.

Great place with tons of extra perks.

My main job was getting orders together and packing them for shipping. Decent hours, easy work, lots of extra perks like ping pong tables and tv's to use on your breaks, lots of team building days, great workplace.

Simple work

Good training but tense atmosphere

Was let go with no warning or explanation after moving away from home. Other techs often mentioned their fear of getting fired and had back up plans in place.

Good corporate environment but not much room for promotion.

Most managers have been there for a decade or more and even though new opportunities crop up for more managers they just spread the existing ones thinner instead of allowing for more internal promotion. It's a good place to hone your skills but you might outgrow them in a few years. Almost all promotions go to long-time favorites, regardless of how mediocre or inept they may be. Pay is good, BBQs and ball hockey is fun. Lots of on call in some departments - can really burn you out in a hurry. Unfortunately the trend is to wake up more people rather than push back about the gravity or validity of the problem.

BBQs, ball hockey, fooz ball

Overall a good organzation

The company is recovering from a few difficult years from the downturn in the Oil and Gas Industry. Pason needs to deliver on new products to the market and maintain current market share levels.

Good place to work

Genuine care about employees. Has hit tough financial times (relatively speaking) and had to cut back severely starting in 2015. Well reputed with customers.
