Great Company

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Partners In Community Nursing is an excellent place to work for home care. It is a smaller company, but one that takes care of its employees. If anyone is interested in visiting nursing within Durham Region, Partners is definitely a company that I would suggest.

Work Culture, Overtime Premiums, Flexibility

Driving, Large assignment loads, Short Staffing

Great Company with a fantastic environment

Working at PICN has been a very rewarding, welcoming experience. It is a place that you are happy to go to work, excel and most importantly helping others. The compassion of each of the nurses, in office staff makes a positive environment.

It’s all about the company

Visiting program is difficult to make $. They leave gaps in the schedule where you are not paid. Long day for a little pay and lots of km on your car. You’re punished via your schedule if you are deemed to be insubordinate. There is no benefits to being a long term employee your shifts can be taken from you and given to the new employee. Management plays favourites!! This place truly needs a union. If you are sent to work shifts that take you and hour to get to, tough, your not paid for that time either.

It can be flexible if they like you

Not a bad place to work

I have enjoyed my time at this company. The pay is decent but unfortunately due to an increase of cost of living it is not enough. Benefits are not that great. Management is good.

Best place I have ever worked

I decided to make a a leap from working in the city to closer to home and my work life balance improved. I now love going into work again and what believe this is the place I have been searching for. The company culture is something special as everyone is helpful and fun to work with. If you are looking for a great place to work this is it.

A great company to work for

I have been at this company for over 10 years, This is a truly wonderful company teamed with caring staff. The atmosphere is genuinely warm and friendly. Our bosses are unique in building a service with care and compassion which shows in the nurses and administrative staff. I am grateful to work for a wonderful company as Partner's

we have many perks but due to covid it is on hold eg spa nights, golf, bbqs, christmas dinners and paintnights

Long hours understaffed at the moment

Extensive orientation given

This is the only company I have worked for that gives such an extensive orientation that helped me when I started working out in the community on my own. Fellow nurses are supportive and management team is available to help you succeed. Lots of support from office.

Amazing company to work for

I really wouldn't trade working at partners for any other community nursing agency. I love my job at partners, the management is kind always and really approachable. The compensation is okay, could be improved though.

Educational workshops (paid) and training

I've enjoyed working at PICN. They care about their staff. They educate their staff.

I would recommend getting a job at this company as they care so much. The office environment is great. The morale is good. President an amazing dynamic RN. The negative issues are the pay isn't good. Lots of unpaid work!

Supportive Enviroment

This agency is very supportive and provides many oppurtunities for nurses to practice their skills including providing paid in-services and workshops. The focus of this agency was to support their nurses and subsequently improve patient care and safety. It was a great place to work.

Poor Management, Discriminating Work Culture, Inadequate compensation

Management is poor, and lacks incentive to promote positive change. Management is 'self-serving'. Training for the community staff is barebones, and staff is provided with minimal support. High turnover rate. Poor Pay. Discriminating and gossip-style work culture. Highly lacking in professionalism, stemming from management.

Too many to list.

As a new(ish) nurse I cant say a huge amount about many other companies however... the management is the most supportive team of nurses I have even experienced working with. Everyone who trained me was a pleasure to have my first few shifts with. Orientation is extensive and you learn SO much, even if youre not a new nurse. Great place for me to start. I wish they were located in other locations as well, not just Durham

A lot.

Nothing I can think of

management favours people

culture is poor. management/ office staff have their favourites, and they get preference. They don't follow up with concerns raised for months if at all. The only enjoyable part was the clients. scheduling is a nightmare unless you are one of their pets, then you'll get whatever you want

Management is poor, non-approachable, not straight forward, favour certain members. Do not follow up with important items, do not return phone calls, talks down to people.

Excellent career path, educational, great staff and great management

Typical days involves processing client claims. Matching up caregivers with clients. Recording entries, faxing, filing.

Flexible, Attentitive workplace

Working in the community allows for the nurse to deliver quality nursing care because it focus' on only one client at a time. This company is very reputable regarding community nursing agencies.
