Infra-structure is poor, dependent on Canada's House of Commons and thus inadequate to many of their projects and activities. Some staff members are magic.
The organization life includes some drama (the organization's small size makes it look like a Latin American family), some distrust for new hires, and sometimes little support and positive feedback.
If you're fortunate to find your way through from day one and fit naturally in their culture, they'll be your best friends. Otherwise, they won't.
Expect to work regular multiple unpaid overtime hours.
