ParaMed Home Health Care Employee Review
Run
Personal Support Worker (PSW) (Current Employee) - Richmond Hill, ON - 13 June 2022
Would not recommend they are very disorganized. The scheduling department basically expects you to do their job for them and they are never reachable by phone. During an emergency they expect you to call until you are able to speak to someone. A lot of times when you are calling to see a client for the first time they haven't had any intake completed in addition to this a lot of the time clients will inform you of cancellation and it's up to you to spend the day on the phone with coordination figuring out the schedule and you're not being paid for your time doing that. also, they expect you to be reachable at all times and will try to contact you when you are not scheduled to work and expect you to answer your phone all the time despite not being paid to work on-call. My overall impression is that they don't care about the right to disconnect, that you have a life outside of work. It is not a very professional environment and a lot of the time you're being thrown to the wolves to fend for yourself.

Don't work here. They treat you like you are garbage. They don't give breaks for a proper lunch your to eat on the go. Most days I ran 2 hours behind if not more due to how they organize clients. I was driving across the city all day 20- 30 mins to drive to clients. They don't pay you what you agree on in the start. Common answer is finger it out or so what you need to do it from management.
Pros
clients
Cons

Clients are great, management not so much.
Personal Support Worker (Current Employee) - Guelph, ON - 1 August 2022
Working with clients in the community is great. However, it is impossible to get a hold of people in the office half the time and the coordination staff does not seem to care about the needs of the clients. I feel like coordination thinks they are above the support staff and do not take us seriously. Sometimes you can email office staff and never even get a response.
Pros
Diverse clientele
Cons
Poor management

Avoid this company if you have a choice, NEVER commit to work as a full time as they only give 20-25 hours per week, not worth the stress to deal with the people in the office they will just be nice and approachable during the 3 day on on-boarding, but once you are in the field they won't care at all. Schedule are very disorganized. I don't understand why they kept on hiring new employees if they cannot even give complete hours to the current employee.
