Supportive team
Concierge (Former Employee) - North York, ON - 21 May 2020
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedFast pace environment with a lots of emergency occurrences. Supportive team, offering rides home after hours in case no transportation available. Able to advance and get promoted in a short time(few months) if responsible. 12 hour shifts which sometime can be overwhelming, otherwise a good place to work.

Insights into Paragon Security
Areas for improvement
- Fair pay for job
- Sense of belonging
- Support from manager
Stressful and you deal with everything
Concierge (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON and Richmond Hill, ON - 28 April 2022
This job is not a job that will pay for you living costs and it takes up most of your time with difficult hours. You usually start at night shift for a year and then if you prove yourself you get an afternoon shift if someone quits or an opening arises. They will give you a raise after a year which is not a big raise at all.
Pros
I can’t think of any pros
Cons
Long hours that conflict with actually living your life

Concierge(Full-time) (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 10 March 2022
Excellent work environment. i love working here. Great support only thing i guess is negative is they deduct money from uniform. All things are fine depending on type of site you get

Corporate Concierge (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 7 December 2021
My site supervisor is amazing at his job. He is very well informed and knowledgeable. He is loyal to those who he can trust and have a good worth ethic.

Worst management ever
Concierge (Former Employee) - Mississauga, ON - 25 August 2021
The scheduler expects you to travel 2.5 hours to job site in bus at the last moment. If you can't make it, he will rudely hang up on your face. The hiring team does not train you and expects you to learn everything on your own. Employees are not treated as humans. They charge crazy amount just for the mandatory uniform from day 1, seems like uniform is another way of their making profits after paying their employees minimum wage during probation.
Pros
None at all
Cons
Scheduling, Expensive uniform, Expect to travel 2.5 hours in transit at last moment and many more

A horid employer. Stay away if your smart.
Concierge (Former Employee) - 28 Linden street. - 1 April 2021
Paragon makes promis3s they do not keep. They will offer a location and then quickly change things and send you elsewhere, then you have no choice but accept there terms If you are over 25 they treat you poorly. There is no advancement from this employer either. They have no respect to their employee or the older generation. Dont care if you starve or get sick. Will also over work you.

Jobs at Paragon Security
Concierge positionsgood company
Building Concierge (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 27 December 2019
Good company to earn a living but do not think of growing within the company because the job promotion advancements are quite minimal in the company, you stay at the position where you start the work

Takes Micromanaging To A Whole New Level
Security Concierge (Current Employee) - Condominium - 3 November 2019
It is not the worst place to work.
The pay is decent, for security.
They seem flexible for giving days off. Although, for unknown reasons, they will not give any time off during the last two weeks of December.
The guards are unionized, although the union is totally useless. They can't even answer simple union-related questions.
One big annoyance is the micromanaging. This company brings micromanaging to a whole new level. Mobile patrol comes around 2 - 3 times per week to check up and they are very disruptive. They expect you to drop everything for them. They think the guards have nothing else to do. Also, guards are provided with a duty checklist that must be filled in every shift. Like being in Kindergarten. Also, they have this automated call-in system that you have to do every hour, which only needs to be done on night and afternoon shifts. Sometimes there isn't time for that. Again, they think the guards don't do anything. It is very stressful. They need to be more trusting.
On a couple of occasions, the site supervisor became very rude and disrespectful to the guards. All employees should be treated with respect regardless of the situation.
Overall, a great place to work if they would just lose the micromanaging.

Lots to fix. Lots.
Team Lead, Concierge (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 1 September 2019
Some of the managers are great, most are not at all.
Scheduling seems to be a continuous, never-ending issue at Paragon.
Pay is comparable to many security companies but they will fight tooth and nail to pinch every penny when approaching probation.
Each jobsite has its own culture, some are great and others are not so much. There needs to be better work when screening/recruiting applicants opposed to hiring anything that breathes and screwing up jobsite cultures.
Pros
paid breaks
Cons
horrible management, horrible guards

This is a great security company with lots of partners and opportunities. Rotating shifts are expected as per the security industry standards. Would recommend working here if you are passionate about security.

Average
Liberty Village Condominium Concierge (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 16 August 2017
Your typical duties of a concierge is to offer exceptional customer service even though you think it is a security job. Well it's not. You provide customer service to residents of building, to the management team and your employer as well as the superintendent and other contractors coming on site.

A place to to work out of necessity
Security Concierge (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 20 July 2017
It is a poor company with poor management style, no chance of advancement anytime in your years to come, poor pay, benefits or any advantages. Only work here if you cant get anywhere because they sure will take you.
Pros
Nothing!
Cons
Everything!

Security can be dull
Desk Guard / Concierge (Former Employee) - Downtown Toronto - 25 April 2017
Like many jobs, who you are working with is much more important than where you are working or what you are doing. Many of your duties can be mundane and monotonous, but good teammates can make you day.
