Good place to work
Business Development Representative (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON7 March 2019
Awesome company to work for. Little bit rocky road but best place I've ever worked.

Money is great, benefits great, culture great, advancement opportunities amazing. Only downfall is it is a company in transition and the road can be a little rocky

A Shell of itself
Inside Sales (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC27 February 2019
Yellow Pages in currently undergoing a massive logistical and cultural change in the Sales Department in Quebec.

Having just enduring a lockout of its sales force at the end of 2018, it is currently implementing a completely new compensation plan and sales strategy that has a number of kinks to work out.

Fundamentally, the company remains a great place to work, however, there are so many insecurities in the sales organization right now and a crisis of leadership to guide the people through it.
Pros
Good Experience
Cons
Pay insecurity, Job insecurity, lack of direction

Asleep at the wheel
Media Account Consultant (Former Employee) –  TOronto19 February 2019
YP has been asleep at the wheel for many years.

Reps have learned to game the system to earn their commission and they move on. There is no ownership.

As an outside Sales Consultant you will be given a group of random accounts- THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. Regardless if the prior rep sold them the world. Regardless of if they saw ZERO results in their online activity, regardless of whether their add even had the right number in it. In some cases, you'll get accounts that auto-renewed FOR YEARS (meaning the rep prior claimed they couldn't connect with them) and if you do your job and connect with that decision maker who says "I didn't even know we still had YP ads and that number no longer is valid, please cancel" YOU OWN THAT *ISH!

Nice group, but they desperately need to clean up their act, get with the times, to stop passing the buck, focus on better sales practices that ACTUALLY have the client in mind and Invest in better technology.

I feel sorry for their clients that spend their hard earned ad dollars with this dino.

YP is no longer the company it once was
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Burnaby, BC23 January 2019
Too many changes, fear of being laid off, jobs being sent back East or India. Was a great company to work for but everyone is in fear for their jobs. Customer Service is no longer a priority.
Pros
Great Benefits, great co-workers
Cons
Fear of coming into work and being the next person to be laid off

Great people, but not enough innovation
Team Leader - Technical Solutions (Former Employee) –  Burnaby, BC10 January 2019
When people find out that I worked here, they asked me how long this product will continue to exist.
I was involved in their digital products, but I found that there was just not enough investment to really compete in those areas in the current marketplace.
Pros
Great people, fun activities
Cons
losing market share, instability

Compagnie instable

Excellent Team Work
Manager, Revenue Management (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON27 December 2018
The atmosphere and people make YP a suitable place to grow as an enthusiastic employee. Working from home option gives employees the flexibility and responsibility to get their work done at a respectable time considering work life balance.

The company had a lot of shady employees who exploited the commission process. However, the company paid a generous commission structure. The people felt like family and the culture was chill.

Working there was a good time, but the company is going down due to bad decision. The comapny is not competitive in 2018 and keep selling outdated product.

Perfect job to make good money but...
Conseiller Médias (Current Employee) –  Québec City, QC9 November 2018
Perfect job to make good money (130k+) but for the rest... anyway, with the new CEO I'm now wondering if it's still worthy to stay there as the only incentive to work in that place is, again, money and the new CEO is going after our pay right now.

Great people for the most part.
Management not aligned with day to day challenges & therefore expectations were unrealistic.

the hardest part of the job
Outside Sales Representative Acquisition Division (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON23 October 2018
the hardest part of the job was selling online because Yellow Pages did not keep up with the online world. the CEO of the company did not initiate change fast enough and as a result we lost too many loyal clients.

Wonderful Workplace
Inbound Outbound Sales (Former Employee) –  Etobicoke20 September 2018
I was working in a fast paced environment. at Yellow Pages Nexthome I had the opportunity of working for 8 years. There I started as an inbound outbound sales rep and then I was given an opprtunity to grow more by doing additional tasks for example doing the mailouts, order company supplies updating data for outside sales reps in real estate. Yellow Pages Nexthome provided a very friendly work environment. I feel very sad that the company that I worked for is sold.
Pros
Had an opprtunity to grow
Cons
The company no longer exists it was sold
