First of all, I was hired as a casual CCW, everyone starts as a casual and then work your way up. Which means you will have a do a lot of those overnight shifts 12am-8am (which no one wants to do.) And if you are not willing to do those shifts, management will stop giving you shifts and eventually they know that you will have to head elsewhere. Such a cunning strategy! And they don't tell you this outright... Secondly, barely any training. No such thing as orientation, manual or any helpful info to get you rolling smoothly. They arrange you to shadow with some random employee for like 5 shifts and then good luck, you are on your own! They don't even teach you how to use a Naloxone Kit!!! Need I say more???For conclusion, if you are not ready to do a lot of night shift, don't waste your time here. No one here gets more than 25 hours a week, even people whose been here for years. I wish I could give 5 starts for this place, I do. :(
Free lunch, pay is good
Mandatory Dreadful night shifts
Wonderful job as far as being able to help the clients and very rewarding when they call on their graduation anniversary date, to tell you how wonderful their lives are. Some very genuine staff who truly care.Management needs to listen to Richard Branson.
Free lunches and parking
Being a member of the Pacifica team has been a rewarding experience. The work environment is supportive and offers plenty of opportunities for staff members to collaborate with one another. Pacifica offers counsellors a wide range of activities to develop their clinical abilities. Tasks range include facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, leading psycho educational workshops, training practicum counselling students, providing case management services, and connecting with community supports.
is a unionized work place. Very difficult place to work. High pressure, low team support. toxic work environment. working with clients with addiction issues and alcohol problems. Work is stressful, high burnout rate.
