No friendship, no opportunity to grow, no integrity, lack of trust and respect. Very high turn over

Indeed featured review

This position is hyped to sound like a great, fun-loving, culture forward place, but in reality, training is very poor, and the expectations and volume of work are insane. The environment is very toxic. Be prepared for managers to step on your career to advance on their own.You get blamed for things that aren’t even your fault but manager's. On top of that Managers don’t have much experience or training in dealing with people, so unprofessional and unjust, that is why turn over is very high. They don’t care how hard you work, they don't appreciate it. If you make a mistake they will make you feel worthless and find a reason to lay you off. They don’t understand it is not beneficial for the company to be hiring and training so many people every single month. They are very used to it.I regret I had not read these reviews before applying to this company.

Pros

5 annual PQ days

Cons

No staff appreciation

Good work-life balance

The company was pretty relaxed about when you came in and left, as long as you were putting in your 8 hours. The team were fun and supportive. My direct manager was amazing and very understanding. They offer more time off than most companies in the area that I can think of.The work itself was relatively fast-pacedThe only issue was that the Accounting department felt like it was at the bottom of the hierarchy and left to resolve a lot of issues that the Property Managers should have been dealing with

Stereotype management, high turnover, no work/life balance

Pacific Quorum Vancouver office is utterly stereo type in the management, hard to maintain the clients when they can't commit to providing the service timely, high turnovers of the employees, no work/life balance at all, and lack timely communications with the clients.

Heavy Workload and turn over very high. Accounting Management very poor.

Working for this company as a Property Accountant was always very challenging because there was not support to new employees and no time to learn new tasks properly. Portfolio was more than 30 accounts including Financials statements, Bank Rec, preparing budgets, tons of emails, phone calls and taxes. Accounting Management was very poor and unprofessional. There was no room to grow and the salary was very low, no increases, no bonus just promises. Turnover very high.

Pros

5 sick days- PQ days

Cons

Heavy Workload

Very little training for position when hired

Very stressful environment. Does not respect employees. Heavy work loads. High turn over in staff. Specialized industry that deals with Strata Property council members who can be very demanding with high expectations.

To much work

Completely overload the property managers and pay as little as possible with a promise of more, that never comes. Little or no communication from management till your in the weeds and it's to late.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience working at Pacific Quorum, however we disagree with the statements made in your review. We provide our property managers with well-balanced portfolios and a competitive compensation package. We have an open door policy at PQ and all team members are encouraged to communicate any concerns with their role to their supervisor as soon as possible so that we can help.

No support and poor management

Owner is all about the dollars and not the clients and doesn't care about his staff. Over worked and underpaid. Not a team environment and very little support

Enjoyable enough, no room for growth

The company has some great benefits and most of the employees are great to work with. Some disconnect between head office and the other offices, does cause some issues.

Pacific Quorum is a growth company

Strata Property Management depends on the strata property agents to keep the Owners and Strata Council of the strata corporation happy with good service from both the agent and the accounting department. Any issues must be resolved quickly and efficiently. As an agent you are multi tasking constantly with email inquiries, phone calls, chairing Council Meetings, obtaining quotes for work on the buildings, managing construction projects, managing in house staff, managing regular contractors such as landscapers, cleaners, etc. , signing contracts on behalf of the strata corporation, holding special and general meetings, changing bylaws and rules, dealing with problems between owners or owners and Council, upholding the Strata Property Act and enforcing bylaws. It also included attending to Court when required, collections and foreclosures. The position also included preparing annual budgets, approving the monthly financial reports, preparing Minutes of meetings, approving invoices for payment.

Pros

You could set your own schedule of hours.

Cons

Long hours quite often having to meet with the Council in the evenings.
