Reviews about Pay & benefits for Entry Level Clerk at Pacific Customs Brokers
Training was very poorly planned.
I believe as a whole the company did a poor job of training their new associates. Four were hired back to back, and there weren't enough people to train their new hires. One trainer ended up on vacation during a crucial learning point, and no one else was qualified to teach as well as they could have. I heard many complaints from my coworkers that too many had been hired at once, which inevitably led to my getting fired because they believed I hadn't grasped the knowledge fully. When I was fired I believed that it was an inappropriate action that only certain people can grasp it as a whole and that "it wasn't a job for everyone". In all actuality I wasn't provided sufficient 1 on 1 training and I felt like a burden to my coworkers having to ask for help when they weren't qualified to assist me. Furthermore, there were multiple times that my requests for aid were denied because these employees were too bogged down with their own work. To summarize, the training was not sufficient enough compared to other employers I've worked for. I received less than two months training on such a complex job, which requires knowledge on FDA and so many other things. They need to hire facilitators specifically trained to teach in the fields they're hiring for instead of bogging down their employees with more than they can handle.
