great workplace for beginners

Indeed featured review

i had a great time here its a great place to get experience and meet lots of new people from across the country. i have learned how to work in a fast paced environment as well as gained customer service skills. enjoyable part of the job would be the people and of course the free lunches the hardest part for me was the transportation and the busy hours.

free lunches

transportation is a must if you decide to work here

Working here is not a good idea. Managers are rude & tell you how you’re allowed to dress/look, call you useless if you just started training, and don’t take well to people who stand up for themselves. Definitely not a good fit if you’re just starting out.

A place to grow

I was hired externally and have had the privileged to see a number of people grow and develop into new roles. ONroute offers a career path, not just a job!

Fast paced and very helpful

I've been working here for 4 years now and it's become like my second family. The team all works together no matter what brand you work for. They care about your success and work hard to build your knowledge. I would recommend working here to anyone that enjoys a fast paced environment and working with customers.

free lunches and friendly people but stressful

The people that work here are nice and you are treated well but the place is understaffed and extremely busy everyday. With the understaffing issue its even worse that a lot of people seem to call in all the time and some people will just leave mid shift without warning leaving the already low staff count lower.

friendly coworkers, free lunches

Boring, coworkers were great though

Work was boring but kept you busy. Coworkers were great to work with. Management didn't know what they were doing. A lot of turn over. Supervisors were great.

Not a healthy place to work

Terrible management, they always seem to have things to complain about despite making minimum wage employees slaving for them. Don’t care about the employees well-being. Things they say are often contradicting. And they certainly don’t like employees askingquestions about the dumb decisions they make. They do not offer health benefits to part time employees no matter how long they worked for them AND they don’t give raises. Honestly there is nothing positive about working for this company. Just try to work elsewhere

Extremely Toxic Company Culture

If you value life, time, structure or feeling of purpose this company is not for you regardless of position. The Resource Centre has alot of negative, toxic leaders that need to leave. The CEO is her way or the highway, if your vision is different and is a good vision your input does not matter. Many projects were pushed down to plaza teams with no input from actual operations which made the projects or systems broken and left everyone struggling to fix the broken operation. This leads the management teams off the floors and away from developing the people and ensuring proper customer service is met.I would not suggest anyone to work here in the current state of this business even if you need a job.

No Work life balance Hostile work environment

No care for employees

A few managers may act like they support the team and want to be there for you but in reality it’s all a false narrative they give off to keep people employed. Everyone talks behind each other’s back.

Horrible working environment.

If you want a job where you’re overworked, underpaid, under-appreciated, have to fight to have two days off in a row (or time off), with absolutely no work-life balance then you’re in luck, you’ve found the perfect job for yourself! If you are hired as a supervisor at ONroute then you’ll only be making slightly more than minimum wage with a countless amount of extra responsibilities. If you’re a good worker you will be taken advantage of. You will be scheduled 8 hour shifts but have to stay beyond your scheduled shift time due to staff shortages & the amount of duties you need to fulfill before leaving. Management will then threaten to adjust your punches to the time you were scheduled to leave at (or they will actually do so if you are not liked by management)… despite you staying extra time to complete compulsory tasks or help out the other staff as the turnover rate is horrendous. You will also sometimes be expected to supervise an additional brand as well as your assigned brand at the same time with no additional pay. This company will hire anybody as they are desperate so don’t expect to be working with people with great work ethics. You will have to pick up the slack of your fellow coworkers with bad work ethics with no extra pay. Some of these coworkers may be very rude to customers but because they’re related to another current employee, they won’t get an appropriate punishment. When you speak to management about said coworkers that slack off nothing will be done about it. Overall, this is the most unprofessional & toxic work environment that you will ever encounter. -

In summer, we got busy due to highway and it is the most fun part about this workplace we encounter with so many peoples from all over canada.

It has best workplace environment. I worked with Onroute since 2019 as part time worker. They have a-lot of growth opportunities. All the managers and crew members are like family.

there's a lot of turn over with employees and its very stressful

a lot of the managers would get mad for things I had no control over, and they never properly trained me on anything, then got upset if I didn't do it a way they wanted to. the only good thing is you could call in to almost every shift, or take 3 hr breaks and they wouldn't say anything about it.

Pathetic company to work with..

Pathetic company to work with. They don’t value employees at all. They just know how to use the employees for their benefit. Culture is too bad. If you want to be successful, don’t join this company.

Stressful place to work, very rude customers, head office unappreciated staff.

Staff under paid for having to drive on the 400 series of highway.People walk in off the street get paid the same as one's who have been there for years. Instead of protecting staff, head office wanted staff to serve unmasked people, even though it goes against board of health rules. The head office cuts hours on staff to bare minimum. So staff are exhausted and burned out and call in sick.

Stressful environment, underpaid, poor support from head office

Fast paced and sometimes never endingly busy.

Its a good job if you would like a lot of hours and opportunities to pick up extra shifts. Was asked to stay late almost every day due to understaffing. And was called almost every day that I was off to see if I would be available to cover for someone.

The other crew members you work with can be fun and friendly.

Big no

This place is the definition of stress and migranes. No manager in Port Hope building cares about their co workers. When I left, no one bothered to even ask me the reason why I was leaving. And i had lots to say.
