fast paced environment, always busy and a lot of work to get done daily, great environment but no room for advancement. always going through customers stuff to buy off them and putting stuff on the floor. alot of tagging and hanging.
food or starbucks at team meetings
no room for advancement in positions
Very boring. Sometimes you have to stay in one spot doing your designated task for 4-5 hours straight. Very little training but high expectations that you’ll know how to do something or work their computer system just on your own. Poor management. Not friendly work environment. Unprofessional and rude owner
- learned cash register operation - learned people skills + how to answer questions professionally - had enjoyable work shifts with colleagues - remained collected during potentially overwhelming sale days
Easaygoing, kind staff
Store can get busy some days
My experience at OUAC was both stressful and unnecessarily heated at all times. The manager at my location was verbally abusive and manipulative other new and old hires, and had no respect for company rules (ie. bringing her kids in to do our jobs). Would not recommend.
once upon a child is a great place to work if u have a knoweledge of childeren products and child care. it is easy to find something to do and tasks to complete. the tasks assigned involve a keen eye and focus. overall, a place of proffeciency and friendliness.
As with any retail position, the hardest part of the job would be difficult customers and fellow coworkers who weren't working as hard as the others. Management was always attentive to listen and resolve issues employees had with customers or fellow coworkers and the work environment was always happy and amazing to work in.
Great friendly staff and great customers however management is terrible!! Owner is always moody and cranky and taking it out on employees even in front of customers. Very unappreciative of their employees and their hard work. Very unprofessional and have no clue on how to run a business.
So much to do in a day. It’s exhausting. No training in place. You are just expected to know what to do all the time. Owner and assistant manager are family so you’ll never get your opinion heard. Just a bad company to work for. Unless you want to work like a dog for min wage. And she cheats her employees out of holiday pay!! If she can pay you on time or not screw up payroll
The store has no staff. When managers are hired they are treated horribly and have to do everything with out pay. They managers quit and we get stuck with doing everything else. Owners don't care about us staff or customers. Owners tell us to do two different things at once and if you arent doing what the wife asks then she gets mad and if you don't do what the husband asks he gets mad. This is not a happy place to work. The only good thing was our manager that had our back but she got fed up burnt out and quit. Stay far away from here the minimum wage isn't worth it
Working at OUAC was always fun because everyday was different. It was amazing being able to see the regulars and having them know you by name (even though we wore name tags) and being able to help them out to the best of your ability to make sure their experience with OUAC was a good one and they wanted to come back. One of the hardest parts of the job was not being able to help someone find what they needed because we either didint have the item in stock or we just didn't carry the item they were searching for and the most enjoyable was getting to see all the smiles on the kids faces when they checked out!
