Nova Scotia Health Authority Employee Review
Is a good and safe place to work...
Facility Supervisor (Former Employee) - QE2 - 9 September 2023
Love working at NSH, I feel comfortable, get long with everyone, good leadership. You feel part of the teams, you feel welcome. Managers are very helpful and someone you can lean on and easy to talk too. They treat you well and over all, I miss working there.
Pros
Good place to work
Cons
Fair hours to work

bad management
Ward Clerk (Former Employee) - Cape breton - 20 November 2023
had really bad management, they will not care if patients treat you terribly. They will just contradict you to the patients instead. Understaffed, under-paid.

Overall a frustrating, disempowering and soul-crushing place to work.
Director (Current Employee) - Hailfax - 20 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? My co-workers are supportive and dedicated. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of productive communication with senior leadership. Not being heard or having timely and constructive feedback. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? You’re only as good as your last success. The environment and culture have become driven by politics and the government. Some days it’s hard to tell who’s in charge or where to take your direction from. Decisions are not well explained or communicated.

Burns you out
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - Nova Scotia - 17 November 2023
At this point in my nursing career it feels like the NSHA is actively trying to burn us out. My mental health has never been worse. I work on a very difficult and violent unit and have PTSD from my job and no support from management. The whole public health care system is very mismanaged and it is very concerning
