Care Aide (Former Employee) - Prince George, BC - 11 September 2021
Not worth you time of day… management in most areas love you bully you. AND when you happen to get pulled in with HR do NOT expect professionalism they as well like to make sure you know you’re just a number and can be replaced. 10 years I wasted trying to find a good spot to work, spent 7 years with one site then was bullied by managers till I left. Now have 3 mental health diagnoses PSTD, Anxiety are the two of the most difficult ones to deal with.
Pros
Absolutely NOTHING

Work with residents. Getting them up from bed in the morning. Helping feed breakfast, lunch and dinner if they need assistance. Then in evening put residents to bed after snack time. get everyone comfortable before filing paperwork for end of day and giving report to nurses.

Care Aide (Current Employee) - Prince George, BC - 16 August 2017
A typical day at work is basically caring for the elderly, who can no longer care for themselves. We toilet them throughout the shift, its a very heavy job. At the end of the day we do our report and do our work sheets.
Pros
Spend time with people
Cons
Hard to not bring home sometimes
