Easy, fun work.
Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Brantford, ON - 28 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedMy experience at North West Rubber was a once in a life time experience. All the nice people I met, skills I learned, all of the friendships I’ve made with my co-workers was incredible. Going to work felt good because you get to be with respectable people and operate forklifts. It was fun operating the Auto-Cut machine.

Best Work in Abbotsford
Matmaker (Former Employee) - Matmaking - 14 September 2023
Great management and coworkers. Good starting pay even if you dont have very much experience. They will train you to operate forklifts and overhead cranes. Everyone is treated fairly and its a fun place to work. As long as you are able to not miss many days of work you will be successful. This can be tough because it is very fast paced and heavy, but the pay is worth it. Really enjoyed working there and miss all the guys.
Pros
Great work environment
Cons
Shift work

Jobs at North West Rubber

Below average employer with poor management. High turnover and high risk industry especially environmental and fires. Old equipment, not well maintained.

If your a strong guy willing to go home in pain everyday it’s a great place to work
Mat maker (Former Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 18 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Put it this way, if you bring a new person in and they get the job and make it past two weeks you get a 500$ bonus. It’s backbreaking work. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Pressure to not write up injuries and mess up the “days without incident” sign is immense What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Not a comfortable workplace for women AT ALL. Discrimination against girls in the workplace is awful I felt bad seeing them get made fun of by all the guys for not keeping up What is a typical day like for you at the company? Wake up, work, take painkillers, go home, sleep, repeat

Great place to work.
CNC Operator and Power Engineer (Former Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 11 July 2023
This was the best work place I've ever had. Management is willing to talk and listen to employee concerns. Hard work and competence is rewarded and earns promotions. Over time is often available by they never pressured you into it. I reluctantly left to move closer to aging family.

Good people, Back breaking work even on the best days
General Labourer (Former Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 20 May 2023
The people when I was there where accommodating & great. Unfortunately the work isn't for everyone, & is back breaking. Biggest complaint was the timer over my head

Somewhat easy work
Machine Operator (Current Employee) - Brantford, ON - 22 April 2023
The job is pretty straight forward but there is no room for growth here. On your feet for 12 hours straight. Continental shifts so not much of a life outside of work

Production driven
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 21 July 2022
Lots of hours, really filthy work environment. Offer forklift training and internal advancements. They do pizza lunches and offer incentives for high production

Great people, broken equipment.
Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Brantford, ON - 9 March 2022
I did not intend to stay at this job long, but the job was not difficult, and most people are great personally. Did get frustrated eventually tho, because equipment is always broken, always the same way, never fixed properly....again and again. If you are chill cleaning up the same issues all the time, its the place for you tho!

Great Company to Grow and be Challenged
Engineer (Current Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 3 June 2021
Fast-growing company that is constantly expanding and improving operations. You wear many hats here and learn all sorts of new skills. Very common to see promotions from within once you've proven yourself. It's a team / family work environment where you're treated fair and your efforts are valued. Compensation along with benefits, bonuses, and perks are competitive. Can see myself working here for many years
Pros
Flexible, good management, fast-growing, growth opportunities, team-building, BBQs, work with great friends
Cons
Rubber smells

Good people from the top down
Driver (Current Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 29 April 2021
Management is very fair and approachable. Every one I've worked with here from upper management to division managers are fair and easy to work with. Do your job and no one bothers you, if you have questions there is someone there to answer and help. Overall, a good place to work.
Pros
Relaxed and friendly people
Cons
I'll let you knw when I find some.

Great Place to work! Feels like a family.
Specialist (Current Employee) - Abbotsford, BC - 17 June 2020
Some amazing people who will be friends for life, some small instances of managerial, bias and maybe questionable actions. But I would blame the individuals, not the company. Overall, the community here is key, friendly and approachable staff. I have learned many valuable skills and made a lot of good friends.
Pros
Pizza Days / Games Days / Friendly People
Cons
Hot / A little Smelly but you get used to it.

bad management
Labourer/Operator (Former Employee) - Labourer - 14 December 2019
Impossible to move up in the company even if you work hard their management sucks and expect the world for little in return. Unsafe conditions that are constantly ignored due to their goal of making profit
