Great opportunity to gain clinical experience in fast-paced environment

North Shore Eye Associates is a busy Ophthalmology clinic. They have excellent specialists, many of who take on very difficult patients. In combination with the high demand for these doctors, working conditions can be challenging at times. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced environment. I highly recommend NSEA to anyone looking to pursue a career in healthcare. Work with the doctors, far more training is available than one might assume.

Worst work environment I've ever been in

With such a poor leadership, I have no idea how they expect to keep the business afloat. They have a hard time maintaining staff because they don't provide proper training yet expect you to know how to do everything after the first time. The senior staff make alot of mistakes yet never get in troube, but if you as a new employee make one, it's like the end of the world. There is a serious lack of proper management. You're scolded for making the slightest mistake, and never praised for going above and beyond. They have no loyalty to their employees, and let you know you're easily replaceable. There is no HR, and if you have a work related problem you can't even go to management because 1) often they are the cause of the problem, and 2) they can't be bothered with you and just send you away. It is very much a family run operation and there is an in crowd that can do whatever they want, and a out crowd who no matter how hardworking they are always gets the short end of the stick. It's not a professional environment to work at, management talks down to staff, everyone gossips, and people constantly throw you under the bus. Not only do they not treat their staff well, they aren't even respectful of their patients. They schedule patients back to back and often make them wait for upto 3 hours in the waiting room, and no one (as in the doctors or management ) cares, and often blame the receptionist for poorly managing their schedules (while they're the ones who want it like that ). This has been the most toxic work environment I've ever been in.

Amazing work environment

I have been working at NSEA for couple of months now and I love it. All the staff and management are super friendly. They go above and beyond to help each other. I have learned a lot and there is definitely opportunities to learn more and advance. I enjoy working at NSEA and would recommend it 100%.

Toxic Workplace

Management is abusive unless you're in the inner circle. Management plays favourites and supports bullying of other staff. Too many patients booked which causes stress for staff and patients alike. Many elderly patients waiting 3 hours or more is the norm. They only care about making money and how many patients they can push through in a day. Hire untrained staff, and cannot keep staff. Pay is on the lower end for this type of work. Do not work here!
