No respect for employees
Miner 2 (Current Employee) –  Thunder Bay, ON12 November 2018
By far the worst place I've ever worked, the food is terrible and the accommodations stink. There is no overtime in your 12 hour/14-day work period. The company frowns upon employees taking breaks and lunch. Management talks safety but production is number one in their books by far! Lots of stress, bullying and harassment from management!
Pros
Better than unemployment
Cons
Union is weak

Equipment Operator (Former Employee) –  Ontario19 July 2017
Did not like working there. Staff seem to like to bully the employees onsite while telling you how great they are.The less knowledge you have and the more butt you can find to kiss the faster you move up.
The old boys club is alive there for sure. I'm sure the minerals in the ground there have a future but the staff will sink the ship for sure. I've heard the place calad "lack of skills" more than once.
Best of luck boys, you're gonna need it.

Easily worst company ive worked for
Mechanical (Former Employee) –  Thunder Bay, ON6 July 2017
Management has the "old boys club" mentality. Safety first is what they preach but they do not walk the walk. The camp is the worst I've seen, food is terrible, if you eat the lunches make sure you can microwave them. Some rooms stunk like mold. No cell service, WiFi worked sometimes. Drive in camp road sketchy, and washboarded/potholes rarely filled. All in all the rotation is nice good time off shortish drive to thunder bay, but hands down worst place I've ever worked.
Pros
Good days off unless they "need" you to come back early
Cons
Pay, camp, management, Hr, food, air quality underground

Camp stinks
Miner (Former Employee) –  Thunder Bay, ON22 November 2016
I spent 1.5 years underground here for a contractor, no cell service, terrible wifi, room was dirty and cleaned every 3 weeks after we left. I think they only changed the sheets. Beds were old and terrible, food was the same. I stayed in dozens of camps, this is the worst.

Safety Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Northern Ontario, Canada6 August 2015
A series of cost overruns and delays coupled with a downturn in metal pricing and rising costs made this a challenging place to manage. The work was great, people were better.

Corporate office for a mining company based in Northern Ontario. My position involved managing the office facility and providing administrative support to high-level executives. I was the first point of contact for callers and visitors.

Most enjoyable aspect: unsupervised responsibility
Difficulties: having to cover for and "repair damage" by mis-hires

Don't get me wrong, temp jobs are great when fallen on hard times, but not the easiest way to make a living. The job was great, while it lasted.
