Reliability and Maintenance Coop in Grande Prairie, AB

Learned lots, but stressful area to work
Working in an OSB mill grants you the opportunity to learn an entire manufacturing process from turning logs all the way into slabs of OSB. Unfortunately, like most reliability and maintenance departments, this one was underfunded, resulting in stress when trying to make sure everything ran well, and getting everything organized. The people were great to work with though!
Team Leader in High Level, AB

Borderline slave labor
Much of management is related, if you are not part of the family you will be an outcast. The mentality is that there will always be someone hungry enough to work here so it doesn't matter how badly we treat staff. labor law violations are witnessed daily, most staff can't get breaks. Definitely the most terrible company I have worked for.

Good safe place to work
Good Company to work for although the local manager was difficult to work with at times. The company has a strong belief in Safety and runs mills which have low RI's.

horrible managment
management is not willing to provide help with issues within the company and will sweep everything under the rug after telling you they will deal with the problem immediately

Run away
Western Canadian operations are a complete clown show. Management at the corporate level is a joke. No real plan in place and and all decisions are done reactively there is no proactive planning. Corporate leadership has absolute contempt for the workers on the floor and safety is just a byword. Run don't walk away from this company.
