Hard to please
Personal Shopper (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 19 October 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt starts off very fun, then becomes stressful with times and products missing or you have to hunt for them. You must reach a certain scan rate, which can be stressful if you are an over achiever. I loved the people and going the extra mile for them. They were always so thankful.

Produce Clerk (Former Employee) - Wilson/ bathurst toronto - 8 November 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Working with my former bosses if they were still there it would be nice and having to meet new customers who some of them became friends due one of the busiest no frills in the city of toronto. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? When you help a customer and they still lose it and say the wrong things about you. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Depends on the area you work for at the company becase my store is a filipino jewish area so my coleagues were mostly filipino. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Nothing new every day same job only if you got some customer thats in a bad mood.

Chill and flexible
Produce Clerk (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 19 September 2023
Great and flexible for students. I loved the fact that It worked with my schedule and colleagues were pretty chill. It can be physically demanding as you're always standing but its chill as in you work alone most of the time.

Great first job, but that's all
Produce Clerk (Current Employee) - Brampton, ON - 11 September 2023
It's a great place to start when leaning work ethic a skills for life but after 6 months it goes stagnant and you learn almost nothing. Some managers are terrible and don't care about major issues unless its dragging them down too. Short staffed to the point where random clerks or cashiers have to push carts
Pros
hour worth of break for 8&1/2 hour shifts
Cons
What day's/hours you work are always random, raises are only given to those close close with the owner or gm

Terrible condtions
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) - Cashier/Customer Service - 30 June 2023
I’m working from home and my job said they aren’t cutting people but I’m miserable. I’ve been unhappy for a while and had just finished up a big project before the pandemic that was my “make it until then and you can leave” moment I had promised myself. Every day when I logged off at work, I’d tell myself it was OK to be miserable and cut myself slack about not giving 100%

Lacking compassion, understanding and empathy
Cash Office Supervisor/Cashier/Bakery stocker/Grocery stocker (Former Employee) - Beaumont, AB - 23 June 2023
Management is rude, plays favourites and the pay for what you’re asked to do is ridiculously low. 15$/hour to do managements work and paper work is not fair nor worth the effort. Don’t bother wasting your time here
Pros
Free Christmas party
Cons
Long hours, sucky management

Productive and fun work environment
CUSTOMER SERVICE /CASHIER (Current Employee) - Londonderry, NH - 5 June 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The schedule is flexible, comfortable environment to work in, great boss, supportive supervisors , employee discount and overall, I enjoy being a cashier at Nofrills. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? As a cashier with no formal experience, it’ was difficult to memorize all the product codes but like I mentioned earlier, I have supportive supervisors who are willing and genuinely ready to help without making you feel uncomfortable. The training helps and all is going great What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The environment is very comfortable, friendly and peaceful. There’s respect for boundaries, cultural differences and social values. I look forward to getting up and going to work everyday because the environment is conducive to work in. What is a typical day like for you at the company? As a cashier, my typical day goes from, genuinely greeting customers, processing their purchases, answering questions on our products, processing their payments either cash or debit/credit, making sure the work environment is clean.

easy to get job but overwhelming
Cashier (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 31 May 2023
pretty easy to obtain the job, but in the end, it’s not worth it. got the job on the same day of the interview, went through three days of training with three tests, they expect too much from you ie: expect you to be able to work everyday of the week for ungodly hours even if you’re a part time employee, expects you to know how to do every role properly, know what each button on the cash register is even if they don’t teach you it.. poor management, refused to help, aggressive, accusatory, upset over everything. the only nice one is the owner of the nofrills if you decide to work at nofrills, i highly suggest to NOT be a cashier. it’s too overwhelming and too stressful. it’s not worth it.
Pros
paid breaks
Cons
long hours, poor management

the most OK job ever
Merchandiser (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 17 May 2023
i work the organic section of the store, its okay, same thing as grocery but just, organic. it's all fine and my co workers are super fun but the owners have SUPER favoritism towards certain people, to the point where its toxic and unworkable to be there anymore. If youre unlucky, you'll have to break down skids by yourself with 0 support and work the section alone, with again 0 support or even a basic thank you
Pros
damage items can be given to staff; i.e snacks
Cons
poor pay, toxic managment, long hours
