large work load and good work culture
Produce Worker (Former Employee) - New Brunswick - 24 October 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedA typical day involves meticulous stocking, assisting customers, and managing inventory. I learned the value of efficiency. Management is supportive, fostering a collaborative workplace culture. The hardest part is handling the high-paced demands, yet the satisfaction of helping customers makes it enjoyable.
Pros
lots of hours
Cons
on feet all day

What is the best part of working at the company? Working with my former bosses if they were still there it would be nice and having to meet new customers who some of them became friends due one of the busiest no frills in the city of toronto. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? When you help a customer and they still lose it and say the wrong things about you. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Depends on the area you work for at the company becase my store is a filipino jewish area so my coleagues were mostly filipino. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Nothing new every day same job only if you got some customer thats in a bad mood.

Incredibly stressful jobs with little to no recognition
Front End Supervisor/Cashier (Former Employee) - Lethbridge, AB - 14 October 2023
Tasks are manageable, I learned that management will lie to you about how you are doing. Management cared for themselves more than the mental/physical health of employees. Workplace culture very reminiscent of a high school. Hardest part of the job was working as hard as possible and continuously being talked about behind your back BY management. Most enjoyable part of the job were the other employees who had it just as bad as I did.
Pros
Made friends easily
Cons
Discriminated against employees with disabilities

Mostly agreeable however they do employ some bad managers who are quite disagreeable.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company? My department manager was impossible to work with. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Good. Young bunch of workers. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Clock in. Move product onto shelves and interact with customers. Clock out.

A Typical Day at Work: A typical workday can vary widely depending on the job and industry. It often involves tasks, meetings, and deadlines, with a focus on completing assigned responsibilities efficiently. What I Believe You Learned: What you learn at work depends on your role and goals. It could include technical skills, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and industry-specific knowledge. Management: Effective management is crucial for a productive workplace. Good managers provide guidance, support, and clear expectations to their teams, helping them achieve their goals.Workplace Culture: Workplace culture sets the tone for the organization. A positive culture promotes collaboration, innovation, and employee well-being, while a toxic culture can hinder productivity and job satisfaction. The Hardest Part of the Job: The most challenging aspect of a job can vary from person to person. It might involve dealing with difficult colleagues, meeting tight deadlines, handling stress, or tackling complex problems. The Most Enjoyable Part of the Job: Job satisfaction often comes from achieving goals, working on meaningful projects, and having supportive colleagues. Jobs at No Frills
For a job as a student it was not terrible, but would never go back.
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) - Londonderry, ON - 21 August 2023
For a job as a student it was not terrible. However, the culture and environment of the workplace was not positive or uplifting most days; but there was always a few staff and customers that made it bearable. The tasks and duties asked of certain staff were also drastically different for the same job title, some staff did nothing and got praised where others worked super hard and got looked past.
Pros
Short shifts
Cons
Unfair workloads

It helps you to learn how to treat customers and deal with people, colleagues, and managers who are ok and respectful, the only hard part of the Job is dealing with some rude customers which Im sure many are familiar with.
