Neurological Wellness Association

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Management is very accomodating which is nice. As long as you're doing a good job fundraising, schedule is relatively flexible. You do need to buy your own gear at the start though.

Cons

Get experience and get out...

This is a good company to put your foot in the door of the sales world, but don't stay too long. Anyone who succeeds in this environment would do very well and be treated much better at another company. The owner means well, but does not have the acumen to lead a sales team. If you want to make a quick buck it is great, but don't expect job security. Expect to work very hard and make an ok income.

This place is a scam

The money doesn't add up. Last year, they were making about $250,0000 a month, with no clear direction on how it was going. They keep repeating the same stories over and over with no updates. Their social media has comments turned off because of the complaints from people they support. They promise to fund low income sick and disabled people to get supplemental health care, but they do not come through. They say membership is free, but clients end up paying $50. Payments come straight from the Executive Director's bank account. Office in Vancouver is a coworking space. This is a scam.

Satisfactory

Working alone with team members in other cities is challenging. Opportunity for advancement was not laid out very clearly. Locations for fundraising need to improve and increase.

Fundraising for a good cause

Fundraising and community enlightenment oriented job. Need to be a people person and have tremendous energy to be successful. Gives one a sense of fulfillment if you believe in the cause.

Had its up and downs

The organization has great intentions to help people. Communication was lacking, training was quick and slightly frustrating. Great team when you had questions.

They won’t pay you for your work

They won’t pay you. It’s a scam and fraudulent. They send you honey and want you to sell it for $20 a jar in the cold outside but won’t pay you afterwards

Unorganized

lots of changes and little job security, not always sure how to do your job properly. Unsure as to what will change next. Not sure whether you will have a job next week

Excellent and only positive things to say about NWA

I have worked for NWA for 5 years and had a wonderful experience. Management was so positive and the pay was excellent. Clients responded to fundraising with enthusiasm. I give NWA a 10 for positive experience. Gloria Dunphy

A very enjoyable job

This job is great, you get to interact with great people and help a very worthy cause. The job differs every day. It gives great satisfaction knowing that you are helping people across Canada have access to healthcare that they normally wouldn't. The hardest part is being out side in all kinds of weather- from blazing hot summer days, to freezing winter days, but still worth it!

Pros

meeting great people, helping others, left to your own and no micro management

Cons

sitting outside in blazing hot summer days, rain, snow and freezing winter days. Dealing with some rude people
