Went back to work after medical leave and was forced to sign excepting job change but would not sign
Outside Contractor Sales (Former Employee) –  Winnipeg, MB2 April 2019
Local regional manager was good but
poor oversight by Regional manager and decisions made also by newly acquired President was not
favourable to an employee wanting to return to work and relocate to another branch that was hiring for same position after after medical leave.

Branch Supervisor (Current Employee) –  NCA Langley23 April 2018
Some of the staff that currently works at NCA came in with little to no concrete or construction experience. We provide manufacturer training as well as in house one on one training.
I feel like the management hires to suit the team and culture over product knowledge There is a learning curve but we have an awesome team of experienced co-workers to help train you.

The new CEO tries to know everyone by name & has taken the time to chat with each employee on his visits.

There is room for advancement, the company is expanding all the time.
Pros
Room for advancement & great co-workers/management

Challenging and collaborative work environment.
Operations Manager (Current Employee) –  British Columbia23 April 2018
I have only been at National Concrete accessories for a few months, and so far, I have nothing bad to say.

The communication from upper management is great. Everyone works together and is on the same page, so conflict is minimal. Unlike most retail stores, the customers here are professionals who shop daily; which makes for positive and fun interactions. As I am learning, they are patient and friendly, so it's easy to want to help them.

Most of the people working here have been here for a long time. They like what they do, they are knowledgeable, and they are reliable. Everyone works equally hard, and helps one another when they can.

There is a LOT to learn if you are in sales, and it can be overwhelming at first, but it doesn't take long for things to sink in if you are willing to learn.
Pros
Evenings and weekends off. Team atmosphere. Decent pay.

i haven't been here long enough yet to get a full grasp of the entire company culture as I am at a small and minimally staffed branch and havent had any exposure to a larger location or culture.

Current Employee (Current Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON11 October 2017
Rewarding place to work, lots of training available for employees who are not from the construction industry. Good benefits, education assistance program promotes further learning and helps offset the cost of continuing education.
Approachable management with open door policy, plenty of opportunities for professional growth.
Pros
Various employee appreciation events, good benefits, education assistance program

Warehouse Manager (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB1 September 2017
The most enjoyable part of the job was some of the sense of humour the employees had on the floor.

Will be an acceptable place to work in about 2050.
Pros
Fun times on the floor.

could use some work on guidance with new employees
Inside Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Saskatoon, SK22 May 2017
great money wise but when it comes to the individual not a lot of guidance or answers to questions. If you don't know concrete don't apply, newer ordering software was easy to use as it is MS based and not AS400.

Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Kelowna, BC11 May 2017
This company was recent bought out and let go alot of its good, long time, hard working staff. They dont care about their employees it's all about numbers and money. Their expectations for what they want and what they pay isn't worth the time. There is no job security at this place you could find yourself employed one day and fired the next!

Medical & dental

Used to be a great company, but now......
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB15 February 2017
Since being bought and ran by accountants, it's all about the money, no respect for any staff. President needs to go, leading the company the wrong direction. Coworkers are the only plus as there were still a few great long term there when I left. Pay is substandard with no incentive.
