They renew your contract every few months. The projects are very cool, but you are just a number for the company. If the project change, you won´t be renewed. Very bad salary for the 3d cinema market

Not Much Transparency

I was told my job was secure and was let go a week later. Not very organized place to work with poor planning on project. Hard to voice your opinion from a lower level.

Low Salaries, they substitute you with people from Academy

They hire you with low salaries, to work on movies that make billions. They have Technicolor Academy, In the moment you become too advanced and expensive, they substitute you for a lower qualified person, to pay less salaries. They are flooding the market with people, and they don't really care about anyone. The HR is not clear, doesn't give you any feedback. They trick the Immigration system, saying they need more people, but the fact is they don't need more people, they just want to pay less. The work environment is very competitive, with inflated egoes. You will do a lot of overtime and get really stressed and tired. They do not care about your life, your plans, they do not offer professional relocation.

Very cool company to work for, large corporation feel

Working at MPC was a very cool experience in terms of the type of work the company is involved in. I did find that it has a very corporate feel where every employee is replaceable and the opportunity for growth can be slow and limiting.

A face paced creative, competitive and friendly work environment.

On a regular day at MPC, I would arrive approximately 15 minutes early to enjoy the complimentary breakfasts. Proceed to my desk and begin checking emails and what was completed by the night shift to understand the targets we were expected to hit for that day. As an editor in the editorial department, we were the liaison between the client and the supervising vfx editor. Our duties included but weren't limited to running review sessions, client calls, ingesting material on the hub, as well as in-house highlight reels and communicating with other departments (mainly production assistants and animators) to make sure all the materials required to carry out their respective duties were available when expected.

Pros

Free daily breakfast, great benefits, flexible rotating shifts & end of week appreciation drinks.

Cons

Overtime hours leading up to a projects delivery date.
