Job is rewarding and fun but comes with its own stress and limited support from management

A typical day starts with ensuring that both community health facilitators and social workers are at work, social work staff for intake and walk-in is available, provide clinical supervision and consultations, attend both internal and external meetings. Work with staff to problem solve crisis and unexpected client issues. Manage both internal and external referrals and assign cases to social work staff during bi-weekly intake review meetings. Write quarterly narrative reports for both the board and our funders. Writer annual project appraisal for the funder. Work with staff on individual case reviews and work with staff ref to strategic planning and programing for the department. Work with staff on individual workplans and performance management and also support staff on professional development. Explore funding opportunities and write letters of intent and funding proposals. Work collaboratively with our community partners. Provide presentations and workshops on cross cultural mental health support to immigrants and refugees.
