Good coworkers

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Great people to work with, management always tries to do things ethically. The management team works hard to keep getting contracts to keep their workforce working.

Ruined by egotistical management

Great coworkers but ruined by management. Toolbox meeting would consist of management making threat to fire someone. Investigation of harassment was covered up and swept under the rug. Great group of coworkers however were continuously being bird dogged.

Pros

Great coworkers!

Cons

Management

Not productive. Not fun at all very dull. And political. Vick management

They are privately owned and only think about their benefit not employee. Very protective and not fun to work with. They get rid of you as soon as they don’t need you. Not sharing any info. Leaving you behind line and no support at all. They pay fair.

Pros

Fair salary

Cons

Nothing else

Good money, bad management.

Workers were great but the managment couldn't keep a contract if there life deepened on it. General looked for non stop reasons to run them off site.

Money

Cons

Bad management

Good company, strong safety culture

Think they are new to the Alberta Oil and Gas sector. Out of Quebec, good pay, good benefits. Wish them well in their future. Hard work, but good pay.

Typical pipefitting outfit. Show up to work fit for work. Go out and work come back get paid. Not much else to say. Shut downs are hectic. People were good what more can you ask for

Encouraging place to work

I worked 12 hour days on a 10/10 rotation. I learned how to receive materials and operate equipment including the zoom boom and forklift. Management was always helpful and provided an open door policy. The hardest part of the job was being away from home. I enjoyed the people I worked with the most.

Pros

Rate of pay

Cons

Being away from home

Don't waste your time

Being an English only speaker I found there was often a communication barrier between myself and my foreman, who had only a limited amount of English. It would have been beneficial to take communication into account when assigning crew members to a supervisor. HSE/Human resources was on a quest looking for employees allegedly using fake trade tickets. Why they would wait until hiring to verify trade tickets was very odd, and threatening people with prosecution for fraud if they were found to be using a forged trade ticket was a very demoralizing way to conduct a job site orientation. If there is any question in regards to the validity of a trade ticket it should be done prior to hiring and arrival at the job site. The wages were good. Not the best, but not the worst either. There was an issue with theft on the site. Management didn't provide a locked box or secure area to store tools, and different crews and shifts were forced to share storage areas. Typically on a job site a crew is assigned a box or storage area that gets locked when the shift is over, and this is why. Overall I'd say that it's a decent job, but the culture if you're a new employee leaves a lot to be desired. It's quite cliquey, and if you're not a friend of someone in the inner circle it was a challenging place to work in my experience. Overall it felt like the long term employees were well taken care of, but everyone else was disposable.

Pros

Decent wages

Cons

Workplace culture

Great team/family environment

Great culture throughout the company. Hard work is rewarded and always a fun group to be around. Excellent environment to work in as you feel part of a family. From management all the way down to the new hire - everyone is respected and works toward betterment of the group

Very conservative to their French roots

No possibility for growing as an individual since they keep a close circle loop within management. No opportunity or job security, regret to even help them complete the task assigned, two thumbs down

Pros

Camp job

Cons

Poor management

Great rates, safe work culture, awesome employees. I had a great experience with the company and they get consistent work in the oil sands that they offer to their employees first before hiring out. Safe, willing to train & advance employees, good people, no problems.
