This is the only company that deals with bullying in the work place by promoting the bully and setting up the bullied employees to get fired. Back stabing is awarded and loyalty punished. Need i say more.

Poor Communication Skills from Partners
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Surrey, BC6 February 2018
Speaking from a former AA:

This company claims to be the "best employer", however the partners and managers you work for don't even take the time to get to know you!

As for the work, it's EASY, BORING, and MONOTONOUS.
Scanning, filing, printing invoices. Any monkey can perform this job!

Old school corporate environment.
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC5 January 2018
Sure it has a name. Sure it has some perks. You will never have enough time for everything you need to do and since you are an AA you don’t and won’t have a voice. Pay is ok but not for the amount of work you need to do. Of course this all depends on which partner(s) you work for.
At the end of the day if your partner is mean and very demanding, then you won’t enjoy anything about the job.
Pros
Perks, benefits, location
Cons
Management, long hours, old school corpor

Culture does not support Diversity
Accountant (Current Employee) –  Red Deer, AB2 January 2018
The firm's culture does not support diversity. And I mean all kinds of diversity (Personality, race, religion , morals etc)
Lots of swearing in the office and alcohol is encouraged during office hours. If you are not into all this, you are not welcomed.

Growing Organization
Manager, Anti-Money Laundering Compliance (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON15 November 2017
MNP has relied on internally and externally growth to expand its footprint across Canada. The organization rewards its top performers especially those that grow the business. However, the culture varies greatly depending on the area and partner responsible for the specific business.

Poor culture in the Calgary Office
Manager (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB29 October 2017
The culture in the Calgary office is disappointing for a large accounting firm. The old boys culture is alive and well, with the men more concerned about when you plan on gong on maternity leave than your mental capabilities. Many females are passed by for promotions, with many of the admin staff all the way up to management receiving unsolicited and inappropriate attention from partners.

Great work environment
Senior Accountant (Former Employee) –  Lethbridge, AB12 September 2017
MNP was a great experience learning how to analyze financial information. The leadership team was great at teaching students how to think critically and provided a very supportive environment to learn. The office always had fun events to break up the day including ping pong and Foosball.
Pros
Supportive environment, great staff
Cons
Long hours

Bad Company with a small firm attitude
Senior Accountant (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB3 September 2017
These guys are bad, hire more people than they need and will let them go after busy season. If you're thinking of getting your letters here good luck and make sure you have a backup job post busy season.
Pros
Staff at your level are nice
Cons
Terrible management, long hours, paid OT isnt paid out, you just work 35h in the summer

Horrible management
Something (Former Employee) –  Somewhere28 April 2017
Management has little to do with their employees. I worked so hard for this company and have no idea whatsoever why I was dismissed. This has left me with a bad opinion of this company. I had this company on such a pedestal. All I can say is it's awful to be forced to leave without a reason. No one cares if you do a good job going above and beyond.
Pros
Nice colleagues, receptionist was phenomenal
Cons
Lack of communication, expectations aren't clear etc...

Productive and nice place to work
Lead Administrative Specialist (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON19 April 2017
Most people are mature and professional. My manager was caring, hard working and knowledgeable. The culture at this organization was healthy and hard work was always recognized at least in the department I worked. Great place to grow.

Workplace Culture
Staff Accountant (CA Articling Student) (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB2 April 2017
MNP was a good place to work; however, the workplace culture was disorganized and it did not feel as if employees were all united in a common goal to make the organization better. It was still a well run company but I did not feel like the culture was a good fit for me.

Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Surrey, BC30 December 2016
I loved working for this company. Partners and managers are great to work for. I would go back in a blink. Administrative assistants can get a bit forgotten in the bigger picture, but mostly a great company.

Salary isn't everything
Consultant (Current Employee) –  Winnipeg, MB27 October 2016
As said by other reviews you are woo'd by salary and the promise of growth. However management keeps you in the dark and surprises you with decisions that directly effect you without warning. There is a lack of direct communication and unless you play their brown nosing game you are branded as not a team player. "Work hard, play hard" is their motto. It's really more like drink and socialize with the right people gets you promoted and advances you.
Pros
Donut day
Cons
Poor management, lack of effective communication and career direction
