Great when you are starting out and learning. Support really depends upon who your manager is and so does the way they do things. As a student, everyone is very nice and want you to succeed.Also, you need to be comfortable speaking up and fighting for yourself if you are struggling or having issues with management because no one takes notice until you are almost out the door or about to be fired. That said, depending upon your issue, once they take notice they do work to help you even if you don't know it. However, that is very dependent on your issue. Personality deficits are your issue to deal with or to fix. (If they can be fixed)Workife balance seems to be the normal firm way, which is horrible at some parts of the year and slightly better in others. Work is highly seasonal but you are still expected at your desk unless you are taking vacation or using up baked overtime.Coworkers really make or break this job since you will be spending a lot of time with them. Most offices have great friendly people though and they are willing to help you out if you need it. Made great friends there. Expect friction between your office and the regional office and head office in Calgary. Depending upon the day you may not notice it but there are days when everyone is on edge because of something new the upper offices want. Again, local partners are mostly willing to go up to bat for you though.

Very poor/lack of communication in the firm. Always on a need to know basis and always didn’t need to know. Profits before people. Over working the good people and promoting the not so good ones. Everyone is fearful of losing their job without any inclination of it. The rmp is arrogant and not a people person at all although claims he is approachable.

To an extent I almost feel like I’ve been scammed by getting recruited to work for this company.Everything that they promote in the beginning: diversity and inclusion, work-life balance, ‘fun’ culture, is a blatant lie which becomes very apparent after a few months working there.MNP is highly disorganized with very poor management and there is a high level of discontent amongst the staff.Don’t bother wasting your time here, you will be much better off articling at the Big 4 where you would learn much more and have much better opportunities for exit.

Favorite place I've ever worked at. The Central AB team has a great culture and are very inclusive and fun. Given ownership of my work and am encouraged and motivated to do work that I enjoy. 10/10

MNP LLP has a great culture that promotes employees to take charge over his/her responsibilities. Employees are empowered opportunities to learn and grow. From small engagements to large engagements, managers and partners from MNP LLP are willing to coach and assign challenging tasks that promotes employees to learn. When working at MNP LLP, even just as junior auditor I was having opportunity to work directly with multiple partners(on various engagements), I was given chance to meet in partner’s office to work on reviews directly. When I leave the company my partner send personal email to wish farewell and offer to help with my future job search in the city I am moving to. It’s the work place that appreciate hard work, and that people can grow career with.

As much as they promote that they're different than "the other accounting firms" deep down they're the same, if not worse. Nothing shows it better than how they've handled this whole pandemic, with management utterly using COVID as an excuse to under-cut pay raises while boasting their increases in revenue, bottom line, and recent mergers.Management does not have a care in the world for the sanity of their seniors and straight up told people to quit if they didn't like the pay raise. Massive short staff due to two rounds of mass layoffs, morale at the company is all time low with every single staff under manager level talking about quitting on a daily basis. Different than the other firms all right.

I really enjoyed my time with MNP. My manager, and all managers that I was lucky enough to meet (annual summer and winter get togethers) were all amazing, funny, helpful and supportive people. I highly recommend MNP as a solid company to work for. So many opportunities for advancement and they support forward thinkers.

Management is only focussed on billable hours with no regard to training or getting knowledge of position. Have worked for other consulting firms that were focussed on this and they were no where near as bad as MNP. They want you working for the client 100% and bill them for everything, no customer service or pro-bono to help or aid in customer satisfaction. Managers are poorly positioned with no people skills. They worry more about the minute things then the overall large picture. You report to multiple managers and they are all pulling in different directions. Their phylosophy is bill bill bill the client and we will fight with them down the road, not a happy work environment.

I love working for MNP! They are very flexible and truly value work-life balance for all of their staff. They also cover the cost of the CPA PEP program as part of the wages which is more than fair. I enjoy going to work everyday!

Awful Admin in Ag department. 2 are constantly getting people fired without cause or bully and belittle the new girls until they leave. Toxic Administrative Manager supports this behaviour it.

Very hostile culture and really poor work life balance. Great for career advancement but staff are treated poorly. Daily tasks are typical of an accounting firm. You'll be given plenty of work and there will never be a shortage of training and it's great if you're completing the CPA but don't expect to be treated well.

The staff are friendly and very helpful. All of the partners are nice and appreciate hard work. The company provides many incentives to help motivate the staff like golf day, holiday party, tax season party (start and end), summer outing, blue monday, and many more activities. It was a pleasure working with a company that recognized talent and effort.
