For corporate employees (intern clients are not employees of Mitacs) the benefits are very good for a nonprofit. Massage/paramedical allowance, dental, vision and good mental health coverage. Opportunity for flexible work hours or work from home if appropriate and approved by the manager.
Clients of the company are matched to universities and industry as “interns” and are not considered Mitacs employees. This is skewing the reviews here.
The Interview process for corporate roles is a typical phone screen followed by in person interview. Some roles (e.g IT) may require candidates to answer more technical questions while others expect candidates to provide a presentation.
There is always hope. You would be more limited to niche areas of teaching and community college roles. But for Community College, you would need industry experience before teaching.
