Top-down lack of skill in managing projects consistently leads to chaos, burning out top performers, and poor quality of work. Ingrained toxic culture of high conflict, poor listening, low trust, low efficiency, and personal drama. High turn-over of consultants due to toxic employees.

Great learning opportunities and fun work culture

Policy Intern (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 1 May 2023

A mix of policy projects and day to day tasks. Project work typically involve participating in meetings, performing jurisdictional research, interviews, writing research reports, and writing policy briefs or documents to communicate the key findings. The work culture is supportive and collaborative, and there is lots of opportunities for social events. The most enjoyable part is working with different stakeholders and solving policy problems. Management staff is great. Cons are that it is easy to get comfortable with the same type of thinking and approach to work.

a good place to learn about public procurement, but if you have worked in the private sector, you would need a lot of patience to work in the public sector, lots of bottle-necks and very slow in approval. overall, colleagues are amazing and very supportive.
